I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, especially Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), (including primarily obsessional OCD, perfectionism and hoarding), Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder. I also specialize in trichotillomania, eating disorders, and stress management. I use evidence based, cognitive-behavioral therapies (e.g., Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I belong to the International OCD Foundation and frequently present at IOCDF Conferences. I am also a personal coach. I aim to be sensitive to individuals while being proactive. The ideal client is someone who is ready to be challenged using powerful techniques to take back control of their lives.
I have treated hundreds of individuals with OCD, using Exposure and Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. For panic and other anxiety disorders, I use empirically based CBT treatments. I enjoy treating women with postpartum disorders. I coach individuals to create more fulfilling lives using Positive Psychology.
Although individual therapy, once weekly, is standard in my practice, intensive treatment (2-5 days a week) is available, esp. for people who come from out of town. I am passionate about helping women with postpartum depression or OCD. I also use Positive Psychology approaches for therapy and personal coaching.
