I absolutely loved Dr. Smith and her staff. From the check-in to the nurse to the doctor herself, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially loved her nurse, Kat, who took my health history by asking great questions and responding without any judgment. Dr. Smith was also an all star. She didn't seem rushed at all and took time to address all of my concerns. I will definitely be recommending this practice to all of my friends!

Dr. Smith is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After completing an Advanced Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship at The Woman's Hospital of Texas in Houston, she was in private practice for six years. She later became a faculty member at the Department of Obstetrics at the Baylor College of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Texas Medical Center. She joined the staff at GW in 2010. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecological procedures including laparoscopic total and supracervical hysterectomy, robotic surgery, operative hysteroscopy, perimenopausal and menopausal issues and treatment, and contraceptive management.

I'm sure she's a great doctor, but I was not happy with my visit. In the beginning of my exam there was a student doctor that was asking me questions, which was fine. However for my exam the doctor proceeded to let the student dr.examine me, Dr. Smith did not ask me if that was ok if a student dr could examine me, with my Physical discomfort she then step in and completed my exam, again I'm sure she's a great doctor, but asking permission is important when someone is in a vulnerable state and being exposed.

It was a good visit; covered everything that's happened medically and any questions. I was running late, and thankful that Dr. Smith was still able to see me. Regrettably, I had tried to call the office several times before my appointment to let them know I was running late, but the lines do not open till 9, which was my appointment time--and I was on hold for about 10+ minutes and finally at the office so I just hung up. They were very accommodating though, so it made up for it. Pleasant, professional staff all around, will be a return patient if possible.

This was my first appointment with Dr Smith and I would say she was hands down the best gyn I have ever had! I loved how high tech and new the office was. The front desk staff was friendly and I was seen without having to wait past my appointment time. Dr. Smith was extremely professional and really took the time to answer all of my questions. I felt comfortable telling her my concerns and she took them all seriously. I would highly recommend Dr. Smith.

Dr. Smith was friendly and professional. She immediately put me at ease when she entered the examining room: She politely knocked on the door (awaiting my response before she entered) and greeted me.
During the examination, Dr. Smith explained what she was doing and its potential effect on me (-- eg. what you feel is my hand, you are going to feel pressure, etc.) as the examination proceeded. She even acknowledged how early and why I arose that day and asked a question related to my early rising.
As I told her at the end of the examination, "I do not care for doctors" (nothing personal to Dr. Smith or any other medical healthcare professional), but I would definitely schedule any follow-up or any potential future appointments with her at any time, God willing.
I would recommend Dr. Smith to anyone needing to see an Ob-Gyn.
Interestingly, Dr. Smith is located conveniently across the street from a Whole Foods -- a store I had been looking for somewhere near my annual appointments for the past week.
Surprisingly, as I was proclaiming Dr. Smith's virtues to my sister, whom I am visiting and have not seen in a while, she indicated that she had seen Dr. Smith during a previous appointment and fully agreed with me.

I recently moved to DC and I enjoyed learning more about her perspective on birth controls during my annual exam. While I didn't wait long in the "waiting room" it did take a little while to see the actual doctor once ready in the exam room. The appointment was pretty seamless after that, which I appreciated. Additionally, I am not sure the actual standards with having medical students shadowing doctors, I felt a little uncomfortable that it was not cleared with me first, especially since it was my first time visiting this office.

This was my first visit and I really liked Dr. Smith. She made me feel comfortable and took time to answer my questions. As GW is a teaching hospital, there was a med student with her, which doesn't bother me at all, but may make a difference to some. And, there was no wait time! I got there about 10 minutes before my appointment and was called back within 5 minutes.

medical recommendations. She was pleasantly frank and compassionate. Also she gave me one of the most gently
GYN exams in my life. I am 60 yrs. old so I have had a few.
I would absolutely recommend her to friends and/or family.

Dr. Smith was great. She was really helpful, attentive, kind, and professional during the appointment. I did not feel rushed or uncomfortable, and would recommend her as a doctor. However, I had an 8 am appointment and was not seen until 9:15 am. I made the appointment at 8 because I had to go to work after, and I did not receive an apology or explanation as to why I waited for over an hour. I was very disappointed with that aspect of the appointment.
