Dr. Kelly was both personable and very competent. I appreciated his thoroughness and his manner: no “holier than thou” psychiatrist babble. He was a great listener, and came across a a very nice person. I would recommend him to friends and family without hesitation. (PS: I was a mental health provider for many years, and referred many clients to psychiatrists for evaluation for medications. I only wish I had Dr. Kelly to rely upon in those days. He isn’t just a “pad and pill” fellow. Really exceptional people skills.)

From the start the initial consultation meeting with Dr. Kelly was so comfortable and personable my daughter and I both felt at ease and able to share our story. Dr. Kelly has wonderful tone and is easy to talk with. After the call we both felt so much better as felt we now are rounding the bend and have found a professional that understands and is able to help us.

Dr. Kelly is a Psychiatrist and Psychopharmacologist board certified in both General and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He completed his internship in Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, followed by a Residency in General Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. After completing his training and running their Residency Training Program, he moved back to Los Angeles and is currently directing the Emergency and Consultation Services at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. Due to high demand, he has recently made himself available for outpatient visits and consultations in two locations, Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach. He is available for ongoing medication management or for second opinion consultations on diagnosis, treatment regimen, or sub-specialty evaluations for particular concerns. Most importantly, he is ready and able to help you and your family with your mental health needs.

Dr. Kelly was kind, considerate, professional and calm. He was very knowledgeable and explained things in a way that was easy to understand. He seems to have a very even-keeled approach to what he does, does not make assumptions and creates an individual experience based on the person and their particularities. I very much appreciated his insight, his energy and his knowledge. He was pragmatic, but not cold. I couldn't have asked for a better visit. Highly recommend.

Dr Kelly treats my 12 year old son with ASD. The course he has taken has improved his anxiety and aggression which allows him to participate and succeed in his daily life. I trust Dr Kelly completely, as his care has worked when other doctors have failed. Dr Kelly has assisted and supported us with instructions for what my son needs in the school setting as well. I recommend him to anyone who has a child with psychiatric needs. I am, well we are truly blessed that we met Dr Kelly in the ER two years ago and can now see him at his practice.

A Psychiatrist should be available to his or her patients and respond to their emails, texts and voice-messages in a timely manner; Especially when it's an urgent manner. After the second time of leaving me high-and-dry without a change of medication or a refill, respectively, I said enough is enough. When it takes 2 and a half days to get a response from the sole person who's responsible for your mental-health, it's time to find someone decent. I sought Dr. Kelly for his impressive credentials and schooling, but what's the use when he won't get back to you within a day? I can not, in good conscious, refer him as a Psychiatrist to anyone.

I've been seeing Dr. Kelly for about 2 years and I thought that he was so great that I also transferred our 12 year old daughter to him. His bedside manner is amazing, he is easy to get a hold of by phone or email when you need him, and even without insurance coverage we are saving money over our previous providers! We moved out of the area 8 months ago, but I haven't changed doctors because we like him so much! Now we just conduct our appointments over the phone or Skype. He's one of the best doctors I've ever had!

Dr. Kelly has been wonderful for both myself and my daughter! We have been seeing him for about 2 years now and he's such an improvement over our previous Doctor. He's so personable and responsive that it's like having your own private doctor! We've even moved to another part of the state, but we still consult him by phone because I don't want to change doctors!

Was extremely interested in all aspects of assessment data I had completed the day before. He talked to me for a long time (almost 2 hours) and I had the feeling that he really understood my issues. He also seemed to focus on helping me to actually get better, in terms of quality of life, etc. Would recommend him to anyone...highly.

The Dr. was pricey, but he was very knowledgable, kind, and left me feeling hopeful. During the appointment he explained everything clearly and answered questions about my diagnosis and medication plan thoroughly. He was responsive to email afterward in a reasonably timely fashion too. I appreciate that he was very professional, up front, thorough, listened well, and made sure I felt positive even during a really hard time.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kelly. He has the ability to connect with his patients that I have not witnessed previously through other medical resources we approached. Additionally, he has handled the relationship between parent and child when the communication has been lacking that has resulted in a very positive change within the family.
Dr. Kelly is genuine in his regard for his patients.

First off - Dr. Patrick Kelly is extremely expensive.
I was also disappointed that there has been no follow up calls or check-ins since my first visit after he prescribed a medication for me over a month ago.
I also reached out regarding a new issue, asking to talk with him (a topic matter that is in his wheel-house according to Zoc Doc) and he basically said I should find someone else.
My impression of Dr. Kelly is that he's a one-and-done kind of therapist. His sky high rate and lack of personal support after the first visit just says to me that he plans on making the money from your first visit, prescribe you drugs and has no intent on reoccurring patients.
With that - he did seem very knowledgable and friendly. So if you just need medication for your issue and no personal contact beyond that, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise find someone with a realistic fee and personal attention and care.

Dr. Kelly is excellent. He's more knowledgable than any other psychiatrist I've had in the past - both regarding pharmacology and giving pertinant advice, targeted to his patients. As a young professional with a packed schedule, Dr. Kelly has been incredibly flexible with initial visit timing, accepting new patients, as well as ongoing check ins, which is very incredibly valuable for busy individuals. I couldn't recommend him more highly!

I came to see Dr. Kelly on the advice of my therapist. Thank God I did! I've been to so many psychiatrists I think I finally found one who correctly diagnosed me, put me on the right meds, and most importantly got to know me as a person, not just a patient.
