Patrick L. Reavey, MD, MS, is a highly skilled surgeon specializing in hand surgery as well as general plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Reavey has trained with world-renowned hand surgeons throughout the United States and has special interest in congenital hand reconstruction, acute and delayed reconstruction of complex traumatic injuries to the hand and arm, as well as arthritis and nerve compression syndromes. Dr. Reavey also has expertise in complex lower extremity reconstruction.
Dr. Reavey uses the latest surgical techniques to provide the highest rate of success and the quickest recovery for his patients. He is experienced in microsurgery, and when appropriate, he will perform complex microsurgical tissue transfer, such as toe-to-hand transfer and vascularized bone grafts to restore maximal function to an injured patient’s hand. He also employs wide-awake local anesthesia techniques for more minor hand procedures, allowing patients to return to their busy schedules as quickly as possible.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Reavey is also dedicated to outcomes research. He is currently investigating the trends and outcomes of finger replantation patients in the United States. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed, scientific journals, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, the Aesthetics Surgery Journal and Clinics in Plastic Surgery.
