Patient reviews for Dr. Paul Berenbaum
The office (Center City) is extremely old and virtually functionality obsolete. The staff is generally unhelpful and not overly friendly. Dr. Berenbaum was straightforward, however I felt it necessary in this instance to seek a second opinion. Also, they don't accept credit cards and take forever to cash checks.
I like him very caring
I would not recommend this doctor. If you are looking for compassionate, empathetic, high quality care, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.
A thoughtful, direct and engaging physician who took time to examine issues beyond the presenting symptoms.
He was sweet, kind, and thorough, considering I have been dealing with extreme pain for over a year, I finally feel like I'll get the help I need. My new gastric doctor!
I was really satisfied with my visit. The doctor was very attentive and did fully study which helped revealing some issues. The wait time varies - one time I came and went right in, the other time I had to wait about 30 minutes.
Everything about this experience was pretty negative. From the dilapidated office (huge puddle in the middle of the hallway from an AC leak, water/rust stains all over the ceiling) to the incredibly impolite front desk staff and everything in between. Dr. Berenbaum was definitely knowledgable, but had a really off-putting and cold bedside manner. I appreciate a straight-shooter, but having a warm energy and a shred of humor is important when seeing a patient, especially when a patient might be talking about a particularly embarrassing condition. They weren't able to take any form of card for copay (cash only) and all I left with was a laundry list of expensive procedures that I needed to get (from him) with little to no explanation at all. I'm dropping everything, discounting this appointment and seeing another GI specialist.
He was absolutely terrible. He has zero bedside manners, he walked in, didn't even say hello or introduced himself. He was completely dismissive of my symptoms and previous diagnosis. He kept interrupting me and provided no solution or guidance toward my issue. The whole experience was disappointing. I would avoid seeing Berenbaum at all cost.
This is an awesome doctor, very knowledge and care about is patient. This is by far one of the best Zocdoc referrals yet.
Dr. Berenbaum was excellent!Very knowledgeable w/ great bedside manners
Dr.Berenbaum very professional. I love it right away. I been having this problem for years never have a GI doctor to tell me to stop what I was doing cause this is chronic and I was just putting a bandage in a wound. Highly recommend
had a great visit with Dr. Berenbaum. He listened to all my symptoms and came up with a great game plan for next steps. He is patient and very knowledgeable. Asked the right questions to get more symptoms that I never thought to mention.
Dr.Berenbaum is very nice and attentive. The nurse at the front desk was very professional, she took her time with me, and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend this office.
I had to fill out paperwork, though i did it through Zocdoc. Nonetheless, the dr took his time to ask me my family history, he listened intently to my concerns, and he is testing me for everything possible. He did more in 15 mins, then drs have done for me in years. I can't wait to go back and get answers that i've been searching for all these years.
My visit was excellent. I had to wait awhile to get in but now I know it is because the doctor meets with patients personally and is incredibly thorough. He asked a lot of questions about my history and really seems to be trying to find the root of the problem. I am loookng forward to going back.
This doctor had a sense of humor, is kind, and attentive. However, he suggested I get a bunch of procedures done without giving me full reasoning as to why. He gave his diagnosis but I thought it was a bit extreme and I was caught off guard because his comments during my examination were so vague and general.
He was always late for my appointments, arrived at the office 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. After a 30 minute discussion sent me out for about 15 tests. Then when I questioned him about why I was doing this test would not explain. Now I did all of the tests, still don't have what the issue is and now have thousands of dollars of medical bills.
Very thourough. Covered a lot of issues. Hope to continue.
He asked a lot of questions and was very patient also nice. He explained to me why I need to get certain test done for my health and to follow up .
Very great doctor, funny and I do recmand him .
He is bee knowledgable of his profession.
Un medico muy preocupado, por la Salud del paciente, muy educado,y Toma su tiempo escuchano al paciente,el trato de sus empleados,es excelente.quede encantada con el.
I am very disappointed with this practice. The front desk stuff is very rude, ignorant and unknowledgeable. They did not seem to care about the patients or try to help them.
Very patient and understanding with great bedside manner; very friendly and helpful staff too!
Dr. Berenbaum has an excellent bedside manner. He truly listens and wants to help his patients.
It was a very enlightening and positive experience. I was extremely impressed with his medical knowledge. He displayed a genuine concern about my health and well being upon meeting me for the first time. Dr. Berenbaum was very thorough and concise as we discussed my medical history. I highly recommend this physician.
He is a very nice gentleman but his office needs to be more organized and be able to answer questions. While on the visit was interrupted my secretary asking him to hurry since he was running behind with other appointments.
I believe it was worth the wait. he was very thorough, at tentative, and knowledgeable. didn't jump to conclusions. and the receptionist, Wendy, is awesome.
I waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes past my appointment. Unacceptable
Only my first of many visits, I am sure, but he has already asked more relevant questions and seems more eager to actually solve my issues than previous doctors.
He was very thorough and began a plan immediately. He was a few hours late though.
Very to the point and thorough. Good experience with Dr. Berenbaum overall. He seems to like to err on the safe side, which I like in a doctor.
