About Dr. Pedro Espino-Grosso

Dr. Pedro Espino-Grosso, MD is originally from Havana, Cuba. He is bilingual in Spanish and English. He moved to Florida with his family at a young age and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Miami, Florida. He went on to achieve his Medical Degree at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico, where his native Spanish language allowed him to provide personalized medical care to this Spanish speaking population. He then completed a 1-year research fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he studied kidney stone disease at greater depth, publishing several articles in this topic. He was privileged to complete his Urologic Surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he obtained excellent training at state-of-the-art institutions, such as Moffitt Cancer Center for Urologic Oncology, as well as trained under world experts of the Men’s Health realm in the field of Urology at USF/Tampa General Hospital. He is a member of the American Urological Associaton and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons. During his urologic surgery training he gained excellent experience in the management of urologic conditions such as men’s sexual dysfunction, male urinary incontinence, cancers of the urinary tract, prostate and kidneys, stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia. He is well trained in minimally invasive robotic (da Vinci system) and endoscopic surgery, as well as penile prosthesis and artificial urinary sphincter surgery for erectile dysfunction, having performed hundreds of cases during his training. Dr. Espino is thrilled to be joining the Z Urology family and looks forward to providing compassionate, high quality urologic care to each and every patient of the South Florida community. Dr. Espino is happily married to his wife and looks forward to a growing family.
