Took my 7-month-old daughter in for her remaining two shots. Dr. Dong was warm, kind, and fast. She inquired about my son and his progress with ABA and speech therapy. It's always nice to see Dr. Dong.

Dr. Dong is very knowledgeable, patient, caring, and easy to talk to. We've seen her three times in total: twice with my daughter and once with my son. Every visit was pleasant and helpful. I appreciate that she recommended that we only give my daughter four shots instead of six on today's check up (6 month well check). At first I thought coming back in a month to get more shots just lengthen the agony, but I went with Dr. Dong's recommendation. After four shots, my daughter had turned red from crying -- I was glad I took the advice.
I went to all the appointments by myself with my toddler and infant. My hands are always full and I can just barely manage with both kids crying by the end. Dr. Dong and the receptionist never get upset at me or my children. My toddler is very strong-willed and Dr. Dong has been very patient with him.
I'm very happy to have found Dr. Dong as my children's doctor. Upon our first visit, she gave me her personal cell phone for urgent matter. I have had to text her once and she was very prompt to reply. She is also very meticulous. She rechecked my son's immunization record and emailed me about one missing vaccine. We exchanged emails quickly and realized it was a mistake from the last clinic.
Dr. Dong is a very competent doctor, not to mention also quite tech-savvy comparing her to younger, US-educated doctors. Myself as a young Asian mom, I often receive condescending remarks from other Asians. Dr. Dong is laid back and non-judgmental.

Dr. Qing Dong is a pediatrician who specializes in pediatric endocrinology. She founded Sound Pediatrics in 2010 after over 20 years of medical research and clinical practice, aiming to provide comprehensive pediatric care in children. With her medical training in both China and the United States and working with families from all over the world, she has developed a deep appreciation of different child rearing practices from different cultures, and learned their attitudes and approaches towards health and disease. She works closely with parents to ensure the optimal growth and development of their children. She also treats patients with endocrine disorders. These include short stature, delayed or precocious puberty, adrenal insufficiency, hypoglycemia, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, hypocalcemia, hypercalcemia, vitamin D deficiency, polycystic ovary syndrome, obesity and diabetes. She is a physician scientist at heart. She has published many papers in the field of cancer research, endocrine and metabolism. Recently, her primary research interest has turned to calcium homeostasis, she has discovered several novel mutations in the calcium-sensing receptors.
Dr. Dong earned a medical degree from Tongji Medical University in Wuhan China. She completed her general pediatric residency at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana and a clinical fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She became an assistant professor at UCSF after her endocrine fellowship. Board certified in pediatrics since 2000 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) since 2001. She is a member of The Endocrine Society, Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Society (now Pediatric Endocrine Society), and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The office was clean and child-friendly, and the staff was polite. Even though my son was the last patient she saw that day, Dr. Dong still spent a good amount of time examine my son, listen to our concern, and explain things thoroughly. We enjoyed our first visit with Dr. Dong very much.

Dr. Dong's office staff was very professional and courteous. We were seen promptly and did not have to wait long. Dr. Dong is a wonderful pediatrician who has a great manner with kids. She took the time to actually talk and listen to the parent's and patient's concerns and questions. My son was very comfortable with her. I felt like she was genuine and sincere in her concern and treatment. Dr. Dong was also very prompt in responding to my follow-up email questions. I highly recommend Dr. Dong and Sound Pediatrics.

I was unexpectedly called out of town, so my mother (son's grandmother) took him to his appt. My mother was very impressed with the offices, staff and Dr. Dong. My son also mentioned that it was a good appt. They were very understanding about not having his records and turning in the necessary paperwork later in the week. She took a personal interest in my son, as my mother conveyed to me, which made me feel fortunate to have found Dr. Dong.
