Dr. Jackson, always asks me about my general health as well as any issue or questions I may have. He is very responsive and schedules blood work to check the effects of the medications I take to make sure they are working and not harming me. He has been my provider for close to 20 years and he and his staff have always done their best to handle any health issues I have.

Dr. Jackson, a native of Jasper, Florida, received his medical degree from the University Of Florida School Of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Emory University, Atlanta Ga. in 1980. Dr. Jackson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. In 1982, he started as a staff physician in Emergency Medicine in Gwinnett and Fulton County. He later became the Chief of Emergency Medicine with the Gwinnett Hospital Systems, which he serverd for 6 years. In 1991, Dr. Jackson established his practice of Internal Medicine in Gwinnett County, Ga., which he currently operates. His practice, New Horizons Internal Medicine, presently serves two locations, Lawrenceville and Duluth Ga.
Dr. Jackson is an active staff member of the Gwinnett Hospital System, in Lawrenceville and Duluth. He is also an active staff member of Emory Johns Creek Hospital, in Johns Creek, Ga. He is a member and fellow of the American College of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine. Other affiliations include, National Medical Association, Leadership Gwinnett, and Omega Psi Fraternity.

Dr. Jackson was not as thorough as I had hoped. He didn't ask many questions or connect to well with me about my diabetes or pain symptoms. He did assure me that he would help me with my needed prescriptions.

By the time I updated my first-of-the-year paperwork that took less than ten minutes to complete, I was called by the medical assistant. The medical assistant was courteous and attentive to my concerns while making notes. Shortly thereafter I was seen by Dr. Jackson, who is keen, knowledgeable and experienced. He followed up appropriately with the concerns that I expressed to the medical assistant. After a few minutes the medical assistant returned to discharge me. My appointment was efficient, pleasant and flawless. By the way: I scheduled my appointment online with ease. (20 plus year patient)

The nurse or MA that initially called me back from the waiting room and also escorted me out of the office after my visit was very professional and warming. I am usually nervous when I visit the doctor but she made sure I was comfortable and she was very diligent. The PA was also very nice and listened to what I had to say. The front desk was very welcoming. The only problem was when I first walked in to the clinic the window at the Front desk was closed for some time. I wasn't sure if I should knock the window to be checked in or sit and wait to be assisted. I would recommend front desk to make sure that the window remains open from the moment the clinic opens until closing time. Other than that, everything was great I would highly recommend my friends and family to be patients here.

I was running behind but the doctor wasn't in. I was offered to see the nurse practitioner instead. The zoc doc information that I filled out prior to my appointment was not transferred over so I spent an additional 15 minutes filling out the paperwork again.

The nurse and tech were clueless to a lot of things. They were rushing in trying to take my blood. I was stuck 4 times and nothing. I was then told that I would have to go to a lab and get my blood drawn. The lab closed at 5:00 and it was 4:55. I had several questions for the doctor. He never came back in after the exam. I was given 4 prescriptions and I didn't know what they were for. The doctor nor the nurse explained anything to me. I left the office clueless! I'm looking for a new general practitioner.

Seems to me like the Doctor has too many patients and I was not notified as a new patient that on my returning appointment I would need to be at a different office..Was not very satisfied with either of the several visits, finally have decided to find another doctor. Also the way they bill isn't fair , I should never have paid for labs but because they Make you see the Dr. on the lab day just so that they can bill for an "office visit" just seemed really wrong, for the patient. Its their right to do , but never before....

Dr. Jackson and his staff seemed professional and dedicated, although it seemed they were much more interested in patients that have existing and more urgent conditions. I am not convinced this is the place for preventative medicine and regular check ups, which is what I was pursuing. This is not a bad comment, just an observation.

I ALWAYS left the office confused and frustrated. This is my health I'm concerned with and the office didn't seem to care. I wouldn't take a sickly, dying dog to this office. Anytime I ever tried to call the office number (they have several numbers for you to call) I NEVER got through. I always had to just show up at the office to get answers; VERY unprofessional!!!

Does not follow up on blood work and hard to call in for prescriptions. Because he failed to review my blood work and notify me that I was borderline diabetic I ended up in the ICU 2 months after my visit. Worst bedside manner ever!

Had a 9:15am appt, got there and signed in. The receptionist asked me to take a seat. By 9:50am she called me to the front desk and asked "do you have an appt?" Really???? If they can't keep or find an appt I will not trust them with my medical care.

I didn't feel that he care about his patience. I have lupus and he didn't do anything but take blood. Never request no medical records or gave me a referral to a Rhumatogist. The only call I got was to say that my blood work was normal when I knew it wasn't.
