Dr. Ramya Seeni, MD

Psychiatrist
305 Miron Dr, Southlake, TX
I am out of network and NOT accepting insurances. Pet mom, mother of two, trauma survivor. That’s my story. We all have a story. YOUR story is important; YOU are important. With over a decade of psychiatric expertise as an MD and a lifetime of experiences as a daughter to a patient, I bring a unique and deeply personal perspective. I earned my medical degree from Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Secunderabad, completed psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and a fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy at Emory University. Trained initially in the East and refined in the West, as a first-generation immigrant, I offer a holistic approach blending Eastern and Western methods, including Ayurveda supplements, yoga, meditation, and medications as appropriate. Understanding cultural nuances and adaptation challenges, I empathize with those facing struggles. For most who come to my office, I start by giving HOPE. I believe success is NOT linear. Using a non-judgmental approach, I provide space during moments of silence, observe body cues, and offer motivation. Central to my philosophy is that the only constant in life is "CHANGE." Most leave sessions with contentment or personalized assignments to support progress. I am aware of the stigma around mental health, often dismissed with remarks like, "You have food, clothing, and shelter; it’s a shame you are still depressed." Recognizing attitudes toward mental health medications—from aversion to reliance—I strive to find a harmonious balance.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will treat you the way I wanted my mother to be treated- being provided information about the disease, the root cause, the problems, the strategies, plan and outcomes. I will treat you with respect and kindness that you deserve. I help adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and addiction regain stability and control over their lives, establish HEALTHIER relationships, and UNLOCK THEIR BOUNDLESS POTENTIAL. As a first generation immigrant myself, I have a passion for working with immigrants who feel unheard and ashamed in their mental health journey. I also specialize in working with individuals who are struggling to navigate relationships due to the severity of their illness, be it schizophrenia or borderline personality disorder.”
