About Ran Ku

***DISCLAIMER*** Neurosurgery/brain and spine (back/neck) surgery is a highly specialized area of medicine. A referral from your primary care physician or another physician recommending you see a neurosurgeon is required prior to your appointment. Ran Ku, PA, is a full-time physician assistant who works closely with Dr. Mina Safain. Ran received her Physician Associate Degree, Masters of Medical Science from Yale University School of Medicine. She is a dedicated neurosurgery medical professional with over 13 years’ experience as a physician assistant. Dr. Mina Safain is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, whose clinical interests include all diseases affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system. He has specific interests in minimal access procedures for degenerative, infectious and oncologic spine disorders, as well as minimally invasive treatments for brain tumors, including neuro-endoscopy. Dr. Safain received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Tufts Medical Center, serving as chief resident his final year. He completed fellowship training in pituitary and neuro-endoscopic surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital under Dr. Edward Laws. Together with Dr. Marie Roguski, Dr. Safain provides greater local access to the full range of highly specialized neurosurgical care, including spine, neck and head surgery, in north suburban Boston, with seamless transition of care to Tufts Medical Center for highly complex procedures, if needed.
