Dr. Kaump was born and raised in California where he earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He then came east and attended Medical School at Georgetown University, earning his MD degree in 1981. Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale then brought him to New Haven where he has remained on the clinical faculty at the Yale University School of Medicine ever since, currently as an Associate Clinical Professor.
Dr. Kaump has been with the Greater New Haven Ob/Gyn Group since 1988, earning partnership in 1991. During his tenure here, he has developed a reputation among his peers as a skilled clinician, meticulous surgeon, and compassionate listener. He has a large and dedicated patient following. His interests include general Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urogynecology, and Pelvic Floor Reconstruction. Outside of medicine, he promotes physical fitness by example and enjoys playing guitar, flyfishing, and collecting cars.
