A third-generation Washingtonian, Randi Wortman, Ph.D., is the current owner of Positive Resolutions, where she provides psychotherapy services to couples, families, and individuals. In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Wortman has extensive experience as an academic motivator and career coach for undergraduate and graduate students.
In her current role, Dr. Wortman counsels clients dealing with mood disorders, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorders. Recognized as a leading expert in body image, she has been interviewed by The Washington Post, Cosmopolitan magazine, ABC’s Money Matters, and National Public Radio’s The Diane Rehm Show. Dr. Wortman has a keen understanding of the challenges related to low self-esteem and weight issues and is dedicated to helping clients achieve a healthy self-image and maintain healthy behaviors.
Beyond her work at Positive Resolutions, Dr. Wortman has served as a family therapist and parent educator for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Montgomery County, Rockville, Maryland, and as a part-time staff psychologist at the University of Maryland’s Counseling Center in College Park, Maryland. After graduating with distinction from the University of New Mexico, she earned both her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University (formerly the California School of Professional Psychology).
