About Rania Abou-Samra
As a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, Rania supports patients struggling with both chronic and acute health issues, including digestive, respiratory, reproductive, musculoskeletal, and mental health concerns, using acupuncture, acupressure, gua sha, cupping, and herbs. She received her Master’s in Acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine at Emperor’s College. She has been fortunate to intern, study, and train with many practitioners, including Dr. Robert Newman, Dr. Helena Zhang, Dr. Huabing Wen, Dr. Christine Chang, Dr. Liu Dong, and Dr. Jian Feng Li. Rania is especially passionate about the herbal aspect of the medicine and enjoys writing custom formulas for her patients.
Before transitioning to traditional East-Asian Medicine as a form of alternative support and therapy, she worked as a licensed psychotherapist, life and holistic wellness coach, and workshop facilitator in Vancouver, British Columbia, supporting diverse communities dealing with neurodevelopmental, depressive, social, anxiety, and dissociative conditions. Some of the modalities she used included Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Somatic and Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness approaches.

I have been seeing Rania for almost two years and it has made such a positive impact- I am truly so grateful for her great work. I first came to Rania to help with some ongoing neck and shoulder tension, from there- we discussed other issues I was experiencing- most notably, a likely PCOS diagnosis due to irregular and infrequent periods. Through acupuncture and herbs, we were able to regulate hormonal levels and despite a later confirmed PCOS diagnosis through a doctor, I was able to get pregnant in a short period of time! I know my health would not be at the level it is today without all the support and thoughtfulness that Rania pours into her patients. If you are on fence, I couldn’t recommend going to see Rania more and talking through health concerns!

Rania was so professional and attentive to my complaints and pains. The first time I did acupuncture was with her and she made sure I was super relaxed and kept checking in with me especially that I have a fear of needles. The procedure was painless and i felt so much relief afterwards and my back tension immediately went away. The second time I visited her for my TMJ pain that was driving me crazy. I was having jaw, ear and even teeth pain. She worked her magic and all the tension went away. I highly recommend Rania and I would definitely be coming back!

I am not an effusive person, but Rania has simply changed my life. I struggled with chronic anxiety, digestive issues, fatigue, inflammation, allergies, you get the picture. These sessions have provided relief, clarity and healing that I didn't think would ever be possible She is the best!

Rania is an excellent acupuncturist who I liked immediately after my first session because of her intuitive trauma informed questions about my symptoms. In the weeks of going to her, her skills have brought amazing reduction of my chronic pain and complements the PTSD care I receive through psychotherapy. People interested in exploring a sensory direction in their mental healthcare need to work with Rania - she really knows her stuff about nervous system regulation.
