Ray B. Bennett, M.D. is founder and director of Wingard Urgent Care & Wellness, a leading medical center located in the heart of Peachtree City, GA. Specializing in urgent care, Dr. Bennett is board certified in family medicine and has over 15 years of experience in research and community health.
Dr. Bennett interned at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. He went on to complete his first residency at West Virginia University, followed by a residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was named Chief Resident.
From 2003 to 2005, he participated in three medical missions in the Philippines, where he provided free treatment to hundreds of patients in poverty-stricken villages and townships in the area.
In 2008, he opened Immediate Care Centers of Georgia in Tyrone, GA with emergency medicine specialist Dr.Glenn McKenna. The facility built a strong reputation for quality healthcare and service in Fayette County, and expanded to a new location and new name (Wingard) in 2014.
Committed to serving the community, Dr. Bennett is director of the Healing Bridge Clinic, a non-profit that provides free, primary health care for the uninsured in Fayette, Coweta and South Fulton counties.
He believes that everyone on earth has a gift. “The core of my gift is to help others,” he says. “I’ve had the fortune to learn from great educators who provided me a foundation to use that gift of helping others through medicine.”
A lover of the outdoors, Dr. Bennett enjoys golf, mountain bike-riding and camping.

Dr Bennett's is always attentive and listens to what symptoms I am currently experiencing before formulating a mode of treatment and diagnosis. However, every office visit I have had to wait a minimum of over an hour and usually end up waiting at least 2 hours before being seen by the Doctor.

My recent visit to see Dr. Bennett was as pleasant as my previous visits. I was immediately welcome by the person at the front desk. The sign-in process was very easy and payment is acceptable by cash or credit card. Since I had an appointment y waiting time was less than @ 15 minuets before being called by the nurse to the back. The nurse took my vitals and then took me to the room to where I would see Dr. Bennett. Again my wait time wasn’t long before the doctor arrived. As always Dr. Bennett warmly greeted me as he entered the room. Dr Bennett was very thorough with his exam and gave me the opportunity to ask questions.
I’m thoroughly pleased with the services I receive from Dr. Bennett. I’m so glad I made the switch to make him my primary care physician!

As always, we had a great experience today. The staff is always friendly and caring. We had an appointment and were seen after waiting about 5-10 minutes which is always nice. As far as Dr. Bennett is concerned, he was great with my daughter as he made her smile and laugh even though she was not feeling well at all. Dr. Bennett has been our Primary Care Physician for over 4 years now and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else because, besides all of his knowledge of medicine, he is a great listener. But what is more important is that he really and truly cares about his patients. I have found very few doctors in my lifetime as good as Dr. Bennett and his team. Needless to say, I would recommend him to anyone and everyone without any hesitation!

The only draw-back to my visit was the waiting room wait(?). Even with a scheduled appointment it was over 45 minutes. That said, the wait is always worth it. First, the reason you might have to wait for a few minutes is because patients aren't rushed through their appointments like cattle. From the front office team, to the nurses, to the Doc's everyone takes the time to actually talk to you. They ask good questions and they listen to your answers. They make you feel like you are part of the treatment plan. I grew up the son of a surgeon with an OBGYN brother and a few nurses and surgical techs sprinkled in for good measure. I have also had my share of medical challenges over the years. I can say without question this is a practice staffed with people who really care about your well being. Make no mistake about it. Healthcare is a tough industry. Doctors and nurses do their best to care for sick people all the while fighting a government that seems committed to burying them under a sea of unwanted and unneeded rules, regulations, and paperwork. As a nation we are headed towards socialized medicine faster than you can imagine. In a few years this kind of medical care will be a thing of the past. Enjoy it and appreciate it now. These guys are good at what they do.

Dr. Bennett is one of the most gifted physicians I have ever met. He never rushes his patients, and always takes time to answer any of my questions. I have found him to be very detailed during an office visit. He listens to me, and asks questions about what may also be occurring, to confirm my condition.
I am very happy with the amount of care and compassion that he gives to me and I believe all of his patients. I have lived in GA, over 13 years, and he is by far, is the best primary care physician I have had.

Dr. Bennett listens and takes time with my wife and I. He shows real interest and is not in a hurry. Today was a very busy day with urgent care walk ins so our wait time was longer than usual. I did have a problem with the waiting time, if I have an appointment at 10:30 why such I have to wait 30 minutes to see the Dr. if my appointment is at 10:30 I such be seeing the Dr. within 10 to 15 min. from the appointment time that I have.

I was not examined by Dr. Bennett but rather a female "student". That is how she introduced herself. I asked questions and the ones she could not answer she left to ask Dr. Bennett. Then she would come back with an answer. This happened about three times and then finally Dr. Bennett came in. He answered all of my questions and then I was on my way. It did seem though that he was trying to hurry our conversation. It was a good visit but it would have been much faster if he came in to see me initially.
