Dr. Gaskins is consistently aware of my medical issues from one appointment to the next and asks relevant follow-up questions. He also asks open-ended questions about any new concerns and takes time to listen. He respects my judgment and welcomes my input into the treatment plan (for example, whether to treat aggressively or conservatively). He makes good eye contact, does not rush the conversation, appears redlaxed and attentive, and is willing to explain any diagnosis and treatment in terms that I can understand.

The visit was very informative. Talked about my health problems, Discussed my prescriptions and made changes as necessary. He checked my chest for congestion and found it a little noisy. Discussed Whooping Cough vaccine which I did not need. He wrote me three prescriptions that needed to be filled. On this visit I was given the Flu Shot.

Dr. Gaskin is a good doctor but his staff leaves a lot to be desired. On my last visit 8/14 he said he was going to refer me for a nerve conduction test and even told me where I would be going. This never happened and when I called his staff person that takes care of referrals she was not helpful and simply said she did not have an order for referral and to call his nurse. I have done so twice with no response. I have also called the office manager and left a message. No one has called me after a week. In the meantime I sit in pain and wait. This is not the first time his nurse fails to respond to messages left. I do not feel I am receiving the medical care I need. His staff so far has acted as though they are not concerned and its not their problem.

He always listens to your concerns, suggestions and overall what is going on in your life, never seeming to rush you and appear to be in a hurry. He seems genuinely interested in you, not only as a patient, but as a human being. This means a lot to me both from a medical standpoint as well as a personal one.
