Really enjoyed meeting Dr. Graham; we hit it off right away; no nonsense, doesn't pull any punches and actually makes you feel involved in YOUR healthcare. It's unfortunate that she's closing her practice at the end of the month, especially since I only had 2 appointments with her :(

So I think it is important to tell you a little bit about me beyond my curriculum vitae.
Being a doctor is really my second career. I spent ten years as a teacher before even considering
medical school. I began as a music teacher, then was a reading teacher in special education, and
finally taught 3rd grade.
I've found that my training as a teacher has benefitted me as a doctor. My experience and training taught me how to say things in a way that helps the patient remember it. Sometimes one will say, "Okay, you're being a teacher now aren't you?"
Even my upbringing helped me become a good communicator. My parents owned a bakery and I helped them out from the time I was four years old. You learn how to recognize what people like and don't like in a retail situation.
Anyway, once I decided I wanted to be a doctor I considered both M.D. and D.O. education. As an M.D. my focus would be on treating disease. As a D.O., I would be treating disease but also be learning about the whole body which would be a more holistic experience and that appealed to me. So in my second round of interviews with the University of Kansas Medical School I withdrew my application and accepted an offer for admittance to the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB).
was the only person in my medical school class without a science related background. That meant I had to work a lot harder but in the end I finished in the top third of my class. That was something a non-traditional student could be proud of because for the first time in my life everyone in my school was smart. Everyone was the cream of the crop.
My intention was to be a General Practitioner but in my first rotation as a student I delivered two baby boys and I knew immediately I wanted to be an OB/GYN.

Dr. Graham is the best! She feels more like a friend than a doctor. I moved away for a year and refused to see another doctor because no one could compare! I wouldn't trade her for the world!!!!

This fantastic doctor consistently checks my entire body at annual gyn visits for alerts to problems that need further investigation. Many times she recognizes a need for non-gyn testing. At this meeting she noticed factors that indicated a need for a bone density scan. Test results showed a new diagnosis and a need to see a specialist.
Thank you again, Dr Graham, for caring competently and personally about your patients. I can't say enough about your praise-worthy care over the years. It is well worth the 80 mile trip to your office to get such remarkable treatment.

Where has this woman been all of my life.
She is by far the BEST Gyno I have been to in my life.
BTW, I am 70 years old so I have been to many.

First time for me to see an ob/gyn at my ripe old age of 67! Really liked her 'bedside' manner and how thorough she did the exam and explained things. Even got her medical book out to show what the procedure would do. Would recommend her to anyone looking for an competent Dr.

I absolutely would not ask or could ask for a better Dr.! I feel like she is an extension of family because she cares about her job and takes it seriously! She was there for me through two live births and two miscarriages. Dr. Graham answers all my questions and concerns in lamens terms and makes me feel important. Through my recent loss I had to have d&c she was there with me, I saw her first when I came to and felt comforted by a familiar face. I later had a rare allergic reaction to anesthetic which she took seriously and made sure I was taken care of through my hospitalization. She has earned my trust and respect and I'm thankful I have her caring and tending to my ob/gyn needs! Today I had my hospitalization discharge follow up visit and she went over everything in detail leaving me confident and hopeful for another child in future. I look forward to remaining a satisfied patient and I will remain faithful until the day she decides to stop practicing!
