Dr. Rebecca Vaughn joined MetroDerm, P.C in 2011. She has been practicing general dermatology in the metro Atlanta area since 1992 and founded our Paulding/West Cobb office.
Dr. Vaughn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and graduated from the honors program at the University of Georgia in 1983. She was employed as a microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control prior to entering medical school at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG). At MCG, she authored several medical publications and received a research grant from the Southern Medical Association. After graduating from MCG in 1988, she went on to complete her internship in internal medicine and residency in dermatology there. During her time at MCG, Dr. Vaughn served as the Chief Resident of the Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Vaughn has worked as a volunteer resident instructor for the Emory University Dermatology Residency program. She has also served as President of the Atlanta Association of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and is currently on their Executive Committee.
Dr. Vaughn is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the Georgia Society of Dermatology, Medical Association of Georgia, and Southern Medical Association. Additionally, Dr. Vaughn is a member of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and has served on the medical executive committee of Wellstar Paulding County Hospital.
Dr. Vaughn has been married for 25 years and is the mother of two children. She enjoys hiking, horseback riding and biking.
