More about Dr. Richard Eggert, DC, CCSP
Dr. Eggert’s initial interest was in nutrition which led him to earn both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nutrition, graduating at the top of his class in both. He then worked for a couple of years in hospitals, but found that they were not the ideal environment in which to teach people about natural alternatives to drugs and surgeries! Dr. Eggert’s sister and one of his good friends were chiropractors and, after seeing them for preventive care, it became readily apparent that chiropractic and nutrition provided the perfect combination for a true natural health care approach.
Dr. Eggert enrolled in New York Chiropractic College where he had the opportunity to study more about the human anatomy and physiology than happens in medical school. Having had the opportunity to dissect human cadavers, gave him tremendous insight into the role of the nervous system in controlling every organ, every function and basically every single cell in the body. He comments, “When I work on patients, I remember that experience. It helps me to visualize the treatment I am providing in terms of the complicated network that carries messages from the brain to all tissues of the body via the spinal cord and nerves. That’s why chiropractic is so important… it helps to “free up” the nervous system to do its job in “directing” the rest of the body.”
On a Personal Note…
Dr. Eggert’s wife, Elizabeth, is an international flight attendant who loves to prepare varied and exciting meals for the family. Dr. Eggert readily admits that he used to be ‘king of the kitchen” and a vegetarian chef… but Elizabeth usurped his throne and now she “rules” the kitchen. Dr. Eggert's daughters, Jessica & Haley, are a great source of pride. Dr. Eggert is board certified in the treatment of sports injuries

Dr. Eggert did a great evaluation and asked a lot of questions about my pain/body/lifestyle.
I would point out that unlike other chiropractors I've seen, he did not do any muscle therapy before adjusting my bones. I've had massage or electrical muscle therapy done by other chiropractors before my adjustments, and they've always been much more successful. He did have a table that stretched my back out a little bit before adjusting, but it was nothing like prep I had previously from other chiropractors.
I'm thankful Dr. Eggers is close, and his office is clean. He is very knowledgable. I just wish he would consider some muscle therapy alongside his adjustment work.

I went to Dr. Eggert for my headaches that I was getting 2-3 a week. His evaluation was very thorough and he explained to me 80% of headaches are neck related. After 3 treatments I have not had any headaches in the past month. I still go periodically to maintain the corrections that were made. I highly recommend Dr. Eggert.

If you were unable to make a visit he made you feel horrible. I was in significantly more pain every time I left his office and he would blame it on the fact that I came 2x/week instead of 3 or that I was unable to come (when he kept changing the days he was in office).

Starts off telling you what he's going to do and how long it will take. And then he does it. Simple and straightforward. Unfortunately I did not see much improvement. I'd like to leave a higher rating because Egg and Doris made it a good experience, but I came here to get better and that did not happen. I know others have had successful treatments here so it's worth a shot.
