(Been seeing him for a number of years) Dr. Friedman is exceptional. He is warm but professional, extremely helpful and wise. He has provided a safe environment in which I can explore difficult topics and essential advice and counsel in difficult times. I cannot imagine a better psychiatrist and trusted expert, and know he has had a profound impact on my mental health and overall happiness.

I am a psychotherapist with over forty years of experience. I am Board Certified in Adult and Child Psychiatry. Additionally I have worked in the corporate environment for over twenty years as a consultant to individuals and groups regarding business relationship skills and career development. The two functions often merge in psycho-therapeutic work dealing with career issues.
After graduation from the Child Psychiatric Fellowship at UCLA, I directed the adolescent hospital program there for five years and have supervised residents and fellows for over forty years. I no longer work directly with children, preferring to address their problems through work with parents. I do work with late adolescents and young adults.
Personally committed to staying fit and active while aging, I have been of help to seniors in dealing with the aging process.
I often work with couples regarding premarital issues, marital conflict, parenting and the problems of divorce.
Philosophically, I am inclined to regard the pyschotherapeutic work as support for human developmental processes, rather that as the medical treatment of mental illness.
