A native of San Antonio, Dr. Newman is a graduate of Texas A & M University and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He received his residency training at Wilford Hall US Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio and is Board Certified. In addition, Dr. Newman received fellowship training in Head and Neck Cancer at the prestigious M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston Texas. Dr. Newman practiced with Affiliated Head & Neck Surgeons of San Antonio until 2006, when he joined the Ear, Nose & Throat Clinics of San Antonio. Dr. Newman is active in resident training and is a Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Newman is a member of the Texas Surgical Society, the Head and Neck Surgical Society and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also received special appointment by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Newman is active in the South Texas Physician Outreach and has worked on numerous medical missions to Honduras. In 2010, he was recognized for his numerous contributions in the medical field and was named one of the Healthcare Heroes by the San Antonio Business Journal. Dr. Newman sees patients for the diagnosis and management of head and neck masses, tumors and cancer at our Northwest and Downtown locations.
