Although the field is known as “hand surgery”, richard_sherwoodmany of our patients do not actually need surgery. If something can be treated non-operatively, that is usually the first choice option and we proceed with some combination of medication, casting, rehabilitation, etc. Some patients need nothing more than reassurance that everything is “OK”.
