After 15 years of visiting a doctor nearby - that we didn't really like, we finally switched to Dr. Wood. His office is pleasant, his staff is great, and he gave the most thorough exam ever. We couldn't be happier.

Dr. Wood, like many who live in Arizona, is a transplant from another state. He was raised the third of six children in the small town of Price, Utah. While growing up he was fascinated with the scientific method, entering and receiving many awards and accolades for his achievements in the field of microbiology.
After studying at the University of Utah, Dr. Wood received early admittance to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, he thrived under the tutelage many wonderful professors and mentors keeping to his roots in the scientific method and challenging many well established theories. His training continued with an externship at the Mt. Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and Capital Eye Consultants of Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Wood graduated with distinction in 2000 from the New England College of Optometry and was recognized with the award for clinical excellence in 2000.Dr. Wood began practicing optometry in Dulles, Virginia where he enjoyed the multifaceted approach to his profession. During his time in Virginia, he and his wife (Grace) visited some long time friends in Gilbert, Arizona. From that visit forward He and Grace knew that Gilbert was the place where they wanted to raise their family.In August of 2001 Dr. Wood moved out to Gilbert Arizona to begin practice with a well established firm. While practicing in Gilbert, Dr. Wood found that his fondness for optometry and his patients would be best expressed in private practice and joined Dr. Williams in May of 2006.Dr. Wood enjoys spending time with his college sweetheart (Grace) and their three children, Alex (11), Addison (8) and Aidan (2). In his spare time he also enjoys golf, reading, family road trips, and music.
