Rob Daroff, MD, is a Health Sciences Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCSF and at the San Francisco VA Medical Center where he has been an outpatient psychiatrist for the past 30 years. He received his BA and MD degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and completed his psychiatry residency at UCSF in 1994. In 2023 he retired as a US Army Reserve psychiatrist after serving on an emergency COVID mission to Philadelphia in 2020 and on a remote post in Kuwait for three months in 2021-22. Dr. Daroff has been an activist in the queer community since 1983 and in the animal rights community since 2015.
