My husband and I went in this morning and had a great experience. Dr. Barnes was efficient and thorough in his exam and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We also really appreciated the one-on-one help in finding new (stylish) glasses. I would definitely recommend Dr. Barnes.

Dr Robert Barnes has been in practice in the local area for 19 years. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and attended optometry school at Nova-Southeastern University . His practice has been more heavily weighted towards specialty contact lens fits, Dry Eye and Allergy treatment and is also very active in the comanagement of refractive surgery patients. He is one of the few doctors in the southeast that is fitting Scleral Rigid Gas permeable lenses and is having great success with them for patients whose next step is corneal transplant surgery. Dr Barnes is an ongoing member of the Georgia Optometric Association as well as a Founding Member of the American Optometric Society. He has been a member of the Contact Lens section of the AOA for 19 years. He was given an award for Innovation in Contact Lens Practice by Corporate Optometry Reports in 1995. Dr Barnes is certified by the State of Georgia Board of Examiners in Optometry and also by the International Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. He has completed additional training in Corneal Refractive Therapy.
Dr Barnes enjoys spending his free time with his wife, 4 children and German Shepherd Maxmillian. When time allows, he also enjoys riding his motorcycle in the north Georgia mountains. Following the Nittany Lions keeps him busy in the fall. He is also studying Yoshukai Karate. Osu!!
