Dr. Cook graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed a three-year internship and residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and a two-year fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Colorado.

Office is incredibly efficient and organized. Dr Cook is a mad genius at sorting out allergies and asthma, and at getting the right mix of medications and/or treatment regimens to get nasty Austin allergies or allergic asthma under control. The waiting room is lovely, looking out over a garden. I’ve learned so much about my own blend of Austin allergies, and am feeling so much better than I have in years!

Dr. Cook is very professional and takes time for thorough discussion with me, going over my patient notes and the exam. Under his care for several years, I have been able to keep seasonal allergy distress to a bare minimum following his recommendations for eye drops and over the counter allergy medication and use of saline nasal wash as I am not a candidate for allergy testing and shots because I have cardiomyopathy and take a beta blocker med. The office staff is top notch, too. And they came to my rescue is helping my ins. approve my eye drops. I am thankful for Dr. cook!

Dr. Cook is very knowledgeable, but I was frustrated that he didn't remember anything from my last appointment with him or the tests he had ran on me. I wish he had taken the time to look at my file and review before meeting with me, because it felt like I was repeating myself a lot. I also hope he improves his timeliness, because this is the second time that I've had to wait almost an hour past my appointment time to meet with him. He's a good doctor, but these two things need to be improved.

Every single time I meet with Dr. Cook and his PA Rochelle, I learn something new about myself, central Texas allergens, or how to properly use the medications prescribed. Suffering from both allergies and asthma for over 50 years, going to see Dr. Cook was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. Now, my allergies are under controlled, and my asthma has be greatly reduced. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the central location is convenient for my work.

Doctor Cook is the finest Asthma doctor in Austin & Texas. I've had Asthma since I was 1 1/2 years old and have had plenty of doctor's in the past 68 years! Dr. Cook is very efficient in the physical examination and down to earth to deal with. Personally, enjoyable to interact with. Results of skin tests were thorough and well organized. Explanations clear. He was open to questions and provided explanations that elaborated on results as I desired. His support staff was a well oiled machine, helpful and friendly. I was early to the appointment but that the provided time to update my records with them using their laptop computer. I was seen shortly after my actual appointment time. Overall, it was a good experience.

Dr. Cook relies far too heavily on the computerized 17-page form his patients have to fill out beforehand and not enough on a traditional approach of actually taking a patient's history while in the office. He tends to jump to flow-chart like conclusions while not taking a holistic history. Moreover, even when patient elaborates or even contradicts his assertions, he sticks with preconceived ideas. Moreover, he does NOT listen well and goes on long tangents, even when patient indicates that they are already well educated on particular subjects. I found my visit frustrating, time consuming, and frankly, infuriating, and will not return to this office. Felt mansplained by this old-school doctor, despite being a professor. Can't imagine how he treats patients with less education.
