Dr. McClelland loves caring for women. His enthusiasm for his pregnant patients and the enjoyment he gets from helping them through their pregnancy and delivery is equally matched with his care for his gynecologic patients.
Dr. McClelland specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, specifically single incision laparoscopic surgery. He was the first physician in the Charlotte region to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) in 2009. He remains the most experienced surgeon, having performed more than 900 successful SILS hysterectomies through a single 2cm incision hidden in the belly-button. His patient’s minimal pain and rapid return to normal activities following this procedure is what continues to impress and motivate him.
Dr. McClelland teaches this revolutionary procedure to surgeons from around the country. He has travelled nationally and internationally speaking to and teaching other surgeons about SILS.
