Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, and Kingwood Hospital.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Fain Jr. received his Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University in College Station. He continued his studies at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center, receiving his Medical Doctorate in 1980. One year of surgical internship at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in the Texas Medical Center was followed by four years of orthopedic surgery residency within the Baylor College of Medicine hospital program gaining experience and skills in The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital, Shrine's Crippled Children Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Fain Jr. was awarded a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in Sports Medicine and
Surgery of the Knee at Baylor College of Medicine.
From 1985 to 1995, Dr. Fain Jr., was the team physician for the Houston Oilers and a member of the NFL Team Physician Society. Due to his years of exposure to professional and amateur athletes, he has remained focused in the evaluation, diagnosis as well as explaining to patients the options for
treatment of their knee injuries. In the field of sports medicine,by sub-specializing exclusively in the care of knee
injuries, Dr. Fain Jr., has maintained a high level of expertise. Continuing his medical education by attending international seminars, national subspecialty meetings, and
teaching, keeps his knowledge current with the latest and most successful techniques.
