Great visit, very nice staff. Super helpful and they carry Portland-made frames which is really cool. Nice selection of frames, very good exam process. They have machines that are very modern compared to ones I've used in other doctors' offices before, and it was pretty cool to be able to do some updated testing for the health of my eyes. Definitely highly recommend!

Dr. Forbes is an Oregon native, and attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where he received his B.S. in Biological Sciences. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University's College of Optometry. Upon completion, Dr. Forbes joined a family vision care practice in Portland, Oregon where he practiced several years before purchasing the practice from the retiring doctor. From 1995 to 2009, Dr. Forbes owned and operated this busy vision care practice,. Dr. Forbes served in the Oregon Air National Guard as a Life Support Specialist, and most recently with the rank of Major as the Chief of Optometric Services. Dr. Forbes relocated into Willamete Market Place in West Linn, and formed Forbes Optical. Practicing over a decade and a half with a strong emphasis on routine comprehensive eye care, contact lens services, ocular pathology and aviation vision care, Dr. Forbes has gained invaluable experience in managing a wide variety of eye care cases. Dr. Forbes has also provided humanitarian vision care in developing countries around the globe: Eastern Europe, North Africa, Asia, South and Central America, and in his own local community.
Dr. Forbes, and his two sons share a love for the outdoors and active lifestyle. In his spare time, Dr. Forbes enjoys numerous outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, and traveling as a family.

Great experience. Dr. Forbes and his assistant were warm, friendly and professional. Dr. explained my vision problems thoroughly and their help in deciding what glasses to purchase and how to proceed with my future vision problems was invaluable. I left feeling that I had found my trusted Optometrist for life.

Very warm and professional. Alina, the office Manager, was very personable and knoweledgable of insurance matters and has a great personality too. No waiting. Came away knowing that both Dr. Forbes and Alina have my best interest in mind, not theirs. Quite refreshing. I would definately recommend Dr. Forbes to anyone.
