Robert P. Liss, M.D., completed one of the few fellowships in the country that combined advanced instruction in cataract, glaucoma, and corneal disease. He was first to bring minimally invasive cataract surgery to our area in 1992, and with “refractive” cataract surgery, has reduced the need for glasses in most patients after cataract surgery.
As a Senior Instructor and Course Director for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Liss has taught hundreds of surgeons from around the world the advanced techniques of minimally invasive cataract surgery and the latest in glaucoma surgical methods. In September 2005, Dr. Liss was given FDA permission to participate in a research protocol and was the first ophthalmologist in the Philadelphia area to successfully implant a synthetic iris. And, in January 2007, Dr. Liss was granted FDA permission to use an implantable device to help secure unstable intraocular lens implants.
Dr. Liss is the only surgeon in Chester County and one of only 350 worldwide that is performing the latest surgical glaucoma treatment, canaloplasty. By pursuing new surgical treatments such as these and frequently participating in clinical trials, Dr. Liss helps keep CCEC on the cutting edge of eye care.
Dr. Liss is a member of the prestigious American Glaucoma Society (AGS) with only 500 members worldwide.

Great Doc, but wait time is ridiculous,Dr. see too many patients at-time so you are on wait all the time. Staff at reception is bad, never offer the convenient timing for the patient.Dr always seem to upsell the eye surgery,but Dr's assistant's are great like Dr.Liss.
