I went to Dr. Seltzer to look at two suspicious growths to rule out skin cancer.
Very friendly staff. Dr. Selzer took removed the growths quickly and uneventfully. Very good bed side manner.
His staff promptly called me with the good news: negative.
I trust him with my life. I have referred my mother and other family members to him as well.

I had not been to the dermatologist for a long time and had been putting it off. My last experience with a different doctor made me never want to go back again. Dr. Seltzer was great and I would recommend anyone to go to him. His staff was amazing and super friendly. Thank you!

Dr. Seltzer was very brief, curt, and quick. I felt rushed and had little time to ask him questions or feel like he really heard me. I also was not told of the possible costs of any of the procedures I had. I assumed it would be covered by my insurance, however, many of the procedures (including biopsies that were sent to Cedars Sinai unbeknownst to me) were very expensive and not covered by my insurance. I wish his staff and warned me that some of the things he suggested may or may not be covered and to look into my plan.

Competent, yes. Friendly, yes. Patient and willing to listen before prescribing? No.
I find it frustrating when a doctor thinks his success entitles him to act like he no longer has to listen to the wants & needs of his/her patients. I'm sure he knows what he is doing, but frankly, being cut off mid-sentence by his condescending comments was enough to make me think about finding another dermatologist to go to.
Had he let me speak for more than 10 seconds, this review may have looked a bit different.

Dr. Seltzer is very nice and elegant. However, his receptionist is fiercely rude without cause. I walked in with a smile and the receptionsist literally threw the clipboard at me. I was appalled and if it wasn't for Dr. Seltzer's great reputation, I would have left.

Absolute Professional. Immediate and exact diagnosis. I could never have guessed at the diagnosis and knew he would know exactly what was wrong. That is why I wanted to see a specialist in dermatology. I have worked with him before as a patient and I had the same experience in the past with a totally different issue in a dermatological problem I had. They took my insurance

Receptionist (a guy) was very rude and unpleasant. I was gonna walk out. The consultation was quick. Didn't go over the procedure, rate quote, and a chance to ask question. I received a appointment reminder by phone the next day by the guy receptionist. All he said was "your appointment is tomorrow at 9" in a very unpleasant manner and tone of voice. No introduction. I had to ask who is this? Terrible service.

It was my first time going there, and I loved it! He treated me kindly and with respect. He helped me right away and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes.

My former dermatologist retired so I searched the web for a new one -- I was nervous going in, but everyone in the office was very nice! Dr. Seltzer took care of my issue immediately and made me feel very comfortable. I am relieved to have found a new dermatologist and would definitely recommend him.

The staff were very knowledgeable and seemed happy, which reflects 'good doctor'. As an RN, I can sense this. He explained options and gave me a discount because of what I needed. I really could feel his nurse knew what she was doing and was confident in her skills. He was confident in her abilities as well. We are not finished but I look forward to the end result!
