Dr. Melendez is an outstanding doctor - couldn't ask for better!! He is a consumate professional, takes time to understand my concerns and ensure I understand everything he suggests. I had cancelled several appointments so was long overdue for a check into my health. He is so thorough!! He went over everything, from my prescriptions to my procedures to my health issues over the past year. He caught me up on my vaccinations, medications, EKG, blood draws, urinalysis, and bone density test. He also scheduled me for a sleep apnea test. His office staff and nursing assistants are accurate and personable.

AMAZING!!! He took his time explaining things to me. We laughed we joked, I couldn't ask for a better Doctor. I can say that I'll be back and he will be my doctor from here on out. My husband will come see him. I really enjoyed that he only sees 10 patients a day to give them enough time to discuss things over. I really liked that. I hate being rushed.

As a former medical advocate/caregiver for 15 years i've had experience with a number of physicians. Dr. Melendez is one of the most detailed, thoughtful, articulate and knowledgable doctors I have ever worked with. Not to mention he is kind and accessable. Dr. Melendez conducted the most comprehensive intial intake I have ever experienced. He thoughtfully considered family Hx and for the first time for as long as i can remember, I have confidence that I am in good hands. The office staff is excellent. Very efficient and friendly. I couldn't be more pleased.

Dr. Melendez was the most thorough doctor I have seen in 65 years! Listens, asks questions, and develops a plan for care that is all-encompassing. With the lab, EKG and DEXA Scan machine in the office, everything was very convenient. The cardiologist was just across the hall for the treadmill stress test. I can think of no stone Dr. Melendez left unturned. A+++++++

If you are looking for a Primary Care Doctor in the South Bay, I would very highly recommend Dr. Ron Melendez. Although I have seen a number of specialists "episodically", I didn't have a primary care physician and hadn't had a complete physical for a number of years. Dr. Melendez spent a considerable amount of time getting to know me and listening to my medical history and current concerns and issues. He did not rush at all. His feedback and comments were excellent and easy to understand. He has a very friendly engaging communication style and you will feel completely comfortable in his presence. Everyone in his office was first rate as well. All in all an excellent medical experience.

After avoiding seeing a regular doctor for too many years, I decided to take the plunge and start with an annual physical that was long overdue. Although hesitant at first I decided to trust my dinner plans--I mean my healthcare!, with recommendations from an app. But Siriously folks this just makes life easier than having to spend time waiting on hold with a receptionist and then trying to find a convenient time to book an available appointment time. So on Tuesday I booked an appointment for Wednesday Morning at 10Am (that is what I call immediate satisfaction) with the doctor with the best smile on ZocDoc- as well as the best recommendations. I was a little confused by his office arrangements in that he is in the same office as his wife but has a different and not as established practice as she does. The reason here is up until a year or so ago he was primarily an ER doctor, but due to some mishaps involving sparing, feet and fused vertebrae decided to give up his leisure lifestyle as an emergency room doctor and break into the exciting world of the primary physician. Accordingly he is building his practice and decided to give ZocDoc a try. And how do I know all this? Well after spending about an hour with me going over my medical history he told me, then he did a through exam of me including the doctor taking my temp and blood pressure, made some recommendation to address some chronic problems, sent in some prescriptions electronically to my pharma, and then loaded me up with samples. Then it was off to take some fluid samples. We have a follow up in a few weeks to check how the new meds are doing.
Bottom line- nice and seeming smart doc who is not a weirdo who scared away all his patients and is trolling the internet for new ones (in case you were thinking this) and you can trust him with your dinner plans - no that's yelp- I mean your health- I did and will continue to do so.
P.S. He takes insurance so don't be confused by that review that sort of implies that he may not.

I have been looking for a good doctor for years, someone that could actually sit with me and listen to my concerns. Dr. Melendez is very professional, he introduced himself and told me about medical experience (not a lot of doctors do this), he is taking care of not only the main reason for my visit, but EVERYTHING in general. I am writing this review after my first visit, I already know that he will be my primary doctor for a very long time. I extremely recommend Dr. Melendez to anyone!

Finding a doctor is not an easy thing to do. You are never sure if you your needs are going to be met the way you feel you deserve. As I explained my situation to Dr. Melendez, he genuinely listened to my concerns and documented all that I said. He did not try to rush me making me feel like I was part of a heard needing to get me out the door just to see the next patient. The only draw back is the office not taking my FlexSpending Master Card. Check and cash only are a thing of the past and with many insureance companies having accounts specific to co-pays and a debit card, not having the ability to do that and go through the red tape of sending a reciept and wait for reimbursement is a hassel. Even the doughnut shop takes a card. Asside from that, I could not be more satisfied with my visit. Thanks for the professionalism.
