Excellent Doctor. We have had multiple surgeries through him, always with excellent results. My husband had knee surgery and I had shoulder surgery. Dr. Karzel is VERY personable and an amazing doctor. My husband had had 2 previous knee surgeries before going to Dr. Karzel and this was the first surgery that truely alleviated his pain. Great staff too!!

More about Dr. Ronald Karzel, MD
Dr. Karzel is originally from Wisconsin. He attended college at Yale University, and subsequently graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston.
After completing his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, Dr. Karzel spent an additional year as a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellow with the Southern California Orthopedic Institute Medical Group. He then joined SCOI after completing his Fellowship.
Dr. Karzel has been actively involved in education and research into shoulder problems. He has a particular interest in the treatment of rotator cuff and dislocation injuries in the shoulder, and has helped pioneer several new techniques for the treatment of these problems. One of his inventions, the Transporter Device, is used to perform procedures arthroscopically which previously required open repairs. He has published numerous scientific journal articles and textbook chapters on subjects such as knee ligament reconstruction techniques and arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Dr Karzel has also presented many scientific papers, and is frequently invited to give instructional course lectures at national and international orthopedic meetings. He remains actively involved in several research projects concerning knee and should injuries.
Dr. Karzel is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Karzel is active in sports medicine on the community level, acting as the Team Physician for College of the Canyons, Canyon Country, Valencia and Hart High Schools in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Dr.karzel seemed knowledgeable and professional. I waited far too long and was dissappointed with the wait time. This is less to do with the Dr. And more with the entire practice and lack of communication therein.

Dr. K was excellent. Professional and took the time to go over my xrays and offered/prescribed excersizes, medication and short term treatments that would help my knee recover. He was recomended to me by my Chiro Dr, Dan Massari. I am glad to know that there is no long term damage or injury affecting my knee and will do as Dr. K prescribed. Thanks and really liked using the ZOCDOC app to get my appt set up. Perfect tool for the patient.
