Dr. Bellota is a great doctor who truly cares about her patients; she is humane, listens, and makes sure everything is ok with you in office (insurance, etc). Highly recommend!
Only reason it was a long wait was because they had just moved into a new building and it threw everyone off. Wait times are usually much much better.

More about Dr. Rosa Bellota Rojas, MD

Dr. Rosa Bellota completed her adult Residency and Child and adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at LSU Health Science Center, in New Orleans LA. “I really enjoy working with kids and Adolescents,” she said. “And I believe in integrated care.” She explained the importance of working closely with a team of providers for the benefit of the patient, and cautioned against the damage that fragmented care can inflict, especially for youth who require medication for psychiatric care. Dr. Bellota will primarily be working with patients under the age of 18, but for psychiatric patients, she may also care for Adults as old as 55, depending on the care required. While she treats the individual patient, she says she has a “family focus” that recognizes the influence of family structures on individuals and involves family members as appropriate. Because of her extensive training, she is able to recognize the influence of physical and mental health on one another. “I take a holistic approach, paying attention to the connection between the body and mind,” she said. She looks forward to working with the team at Oasis Behavioral Health as well as with providers in the community. “I want to be part of a healthcare structure that protects the patients,” she said. Dr Bellota is bilingual. She speaks English and Spanish.

Visit with her was great. They do surprise you with the copay when you get there. A call ahead of time would of been nice.

Only reason it was a long wait was because they had just moved into a new building and it threw everyone off. Wait times are usually much much better.
She can be rough during initial consultation but she works with you and treats you through trial and error and your feedback. The 2nd appt. Was a much better one, i.e: more of a convo., connection and what appeared to be general concern.
Great psychiatrist, helped adjust my medication without changing everything too drastically. Understood past medication clearly and how medications interact. Also had a good sense of humor. The office/ clinic itself is great too. I managed to get a therapist through the same office who ended out being a great therapist as well.
She was extremely patient in listening to my issues and problems . She was very articulate in summing up the reason for my visit and understanding what I need . She was very professional and didn't brush off any of my concerns explaining every question I had. Thank you.
Dr Bellota is extremely considerate , straight-forward ,compassionate and helpful. She talks to you the way that you believe that she will get you out of this condition ,which was very important to me at that time. She provided with excellent support and practical techniques for copying with my problems. I started with her because my previous doctor let me go due to my insurance . That start start defined my treatment and eventually , I cured. I highly recommend her.
I can't ask for a better doctor, she is not only very professional, but listens to you the whole time and that is very important for the patient. Thank you so much!!!!!! :):):):)
Great doctor who really cares about her patients. Listened to all my concerns and didn't rush me. Really took time to understand my condition and worked with me to find a medication that I thought I would be comfortable with instead of pushing one on me. I am very happy and thankful to have found her.
Overall very pleased. There were some time issues because she had just moved into a new location. Some of the current patients had been e-mailed the old address which caused confusion. Not the good doctors fault.
Very unprofessional. Didn't introduce herself and acted very put out with us and our questions. Very disappointed. Honestly have never been treated that way EVER by a doctor. I'm a Physician Assistant and my husband is a professional and expected a certain level of professionalism from her that WAY MISSED THE MARK. Won't go back.
Dr. Bellota was extremely professional yet friendly. The wait time was 45 minutes which she apologized for. A very positive experience overall.
Front desk lady Robyn is very helpful and kind. Dr Rosa listened to my concerns, asked a couple questions for clarification, and prescribed me something to help with my symptoms. There was no doubting or burden of proof on my shoulders. She's very caring, but also didn't drag out the appointment longer than necessary.
Horrible. I will never see this dr again nor would I recommend her to anyone I care about. I saw her for less than 10 minutes between 2 visits. She did not once ask me why I was having problems. In fact on the last visit I was having an anxiety attack in her office and she opened the office door for me to leave. She refused to fill out mt short term disability paperwork because she said she would have to see me for 6 months.Kind of defeats the purpose of short term disability which my company provides for unexpected injuries or illnesses. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. NO SYMPATHY. ONLY WANTS TO THROW DRUGS AT THE PROBLEM WHICH I TOLD HER I DID NOT WANT.
I had arrived early because I finished what I had before the appointment before I thought I would. I did have a bit of a wait, but she saw me before my scheduled time (we actually got out when it was time to "start"), so I marked the wait as right away since the wait was on me, not her. =) This was a follow-up. We talked about whether the medicine was working (I didn't notice it kick in or out and I couldn't tell the difference between whether the meds were still active in my system or not, but I wasn't having bad-brain days, so we determined I'm about at where I should be), if the dosing felt right, if I'd had symptoms, how the side-effects were on me (especially concerning sleep and appetite), and answered the questions I had about changes in my routine. She emphasized that if it seems like it wasn't working, since I'm only taking it on work days, I can use my stored-up extras to up my own dose by half a pill if I develop a tolerance until we can schedule another appointment so long as I don't go over a certain mg limit a day. It's more important that I am safe and that things are going smoothly. I love the briskness and straight-forwardness of the appointments. I had some anxiety about going to a doctor on my own after not having seen one for almost 8 years, but her manner put me at ease and I feel I can be honest with her about my experiences without judgement.
Dr. Bellota was extremely helpful, listened to my concerns and helped me to effectively identify what my treatment should be.
The wait was partly my fault because they needed my insurance info but even after they got all of that and I paid, I still sat there at least another 20 minutes. Not a huge deal though, it happens. The doctor is kind but I didn't feel any real connection to her. I've seen many doctors over my lifetime (including psychiatrists) and I just didn't connect with her. But I may go back because she was nice enough. I may go elsewhere to see if I can find something better. English is not her first language and she does have a heavy accent so that can be tough. Also, the room we talked in was very warm and that makes me uncomfortable. So 3/5 stars I think.
I've been looking for a psychiatric for an awhile, and I think I will stick with her... Still to soon to know that but seems like Dr. Rojas is a good doctor, what I can tell right now is: she is very professional and I didn't wait more than 5 min. to see her.
My first impression was their main office/room/lobby is quite cramped. The room is roughly the size of an small bedroom. While this doesn't reflect their service, it surely may be uncomfortable to those who value personal space and privacy. There was a building lobby that was utilized as well, which was much more comfortable and spacious. However, they mentioned they were moving to a new office down the street before February, so this information may not be valid much longer. The receptionists were very busy and looked stressed, but the receptionist that helped me was very polite and helpful. I was informed that my appointment was the previous day (which I originally had thought as well), but I recieved an email from their office (through Zocdoc.com) informing me my appointment was actually Tuesday, not Monday. I thought I made a mistake so I didn't call to confirm. Regardless, I was informed it wasn't an issue and Dr. Rojas still saw me. My intuition tells me she was upset about something because she just seemed somewhat disinterested in seeing me. I presume she was having a busy/stressful day and wasn't expecting to see me, so I'm chalking it up to that. She did seem competent in her profession, and I was satisfied with her questions/concerns of my diagnosis. Overall it was a productive and satisfactory experience, and I will be visiting the office again in hopes of the negative aspects of my visit changing.
