Dr. Rosalind Downing is a board certified primary pediatrician with an 8 year clinical experience. She is fluent in Spanish and she currently provides medical care for about 80-90% public aid recipient-population (predominantly Hispanic population) in the Elgin and East Dundee, Illinois area. It has been a rewarding experience to be an advocate to her patients and their families. Building good rapport/relationships, communicating well, and patient recruiting from prenatal classes are among her strengths as well keen medical acumen.
Dr. Downing completed her residency at University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003. Her clinical skills include: inpatient care (managing patients as primary care provider as well as a pediatric hospitalist), outpatient care (administering vaccines, splinting, etc.) Dr. Downing is also a fond supporter for promoting breastfeeding in the office as well as promoting childhood literacy program known as “Read Out and Read”, where she raised $15,000 for a federally health qualified clinic in Elgin.

She is a very caring and understanding pediatrician having two kids of her own. We were impressed when she gave us her personal cell number at our very first visit with our newborn son! Although, we haven't had to use it yet (knock on wood), it's good to know she'll be there when/if we need her in an emergency. Highly recommend her as a family doctor!!

Dr. Downing and the nurses are great with patients,she is very knowledgeable and the nurses are very sweet, but the wait time and lack of communication about appointment changes is horrible. Also when calling in it is obvious they are understaffed from the long hold times.. I think better administrative organization would improve the quality of the experience.
