Dr. Roshiel Tiu joined the Medical and Surgical Clinics of Southern Maryland in 2006. She graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she was Chief Resident. Since joining our clinics, Dr Tiu has twice received the Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award and the Patient’s Choice Award. Dr. Tiu provides a full spectrum of care in General Obstetrics & Gynecology from preventative care to minimally invasive surgery. She has special interests in high risk pregnancies, the treatment of abnormal vaginal bleeding- including alternatives to hysterectomy, and the management of abnormal pap smears.
Dr. Tiu was the Deputy Chair of the Department of Obstetrics at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center from 2011- 2014. She continues to care passionately about bringing quality and safety to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in her role as the current Chair of the Perinatal Safety Committee, and member of the Peer Review Committee.
