Sadia Benzaquen, MD, ATSF, FACP, FACCP, has joined Einstein Healthcare Network as Chair of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Benzaquen is board certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care, Interventional Pulmonology, and Internal Medicine.
He comes to Einstein from the University of Cincinnati where he was Associate Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine and the Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship Director of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Benzaquen is the principal investigator on several studies, including a study on the use of a navigational bronchoscopy system, the use of endobronchial valves in the treatment of persistent pneumothorax (collapsed lung), and on the effectiveness of treatment for severe emphysema, among others. He has authored or co-authored papers on a variety of lung conditions including sarcoidosis and interstitial pneumonia as well as treatments such as bronchoscopic cryobiopsy and cryotherapy.
He earned his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine, Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. Dr. Benzaquen completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. He continued his training and completed a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia as well as a Fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology at the Chicago Chest Center in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Benzaquen is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the American College of Physicians. In addition, he is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, the Venezuelan Society of Intensive Care, and the Venezuelan Society of Internal Medicine.
