I just moved to Portland and needed to find a new Ob-gyn and after much researching found Dr. Adkins. She has been wonderful and explains everything thoroughly especially with certain health concern that I've been dealing with.

Even 83 yr old woman can have vaginal issues, in the 1950's thru the 70's there were not many female gyn doctors available if any, male primary care doctors delivered babies took care of our female issues, not many were specialists. They were difficult to talk to and at times hard to find the compassion you find with a female doctors. From the 80's til now more female Gyn doctors are available to women. Thank Goodness! My experience with Dr. Adkins was positive when she came into the room and started talking with me I felt at ease, she really was interested in my problem, the exam was gentle, she explained to me how to go about improving my problem and recommended another source of treatment which I will follow through on. The office staff and her assistant were caring and made you feel at ease Thank You

she was polite and fine. However, she never mailed me my test results, never called to follow up. Her nurses forgot about me in the room, so I waited for 30 minutes for a quick test to be done. When I called in to get a change in the prescription b/c of a side affect, her nurses expressed judgement on my desire to change medications.

Dr. Adkins was SO nice! She made me feel comfortable, discussed my options with me, and even did my annual exam, even though I wasn't technically scheduled for it. Have been to see her a few times now and typically the wait is not bad, 10-20 minutes. Depends on how busy she is. I always feel that she takes the time to listen to my concerns, which is good - I never feel like "just another patient" to be seen.

Dr. Adkins was running a little late due to a delivery! Definitely an understandable reason for tardiness. Prior to that, it was well explained to me why she is running late and everyone was considerate and understanding of my time. = )

I am really anxious about gynecological exams and was dreading finding a new doctor after my gynecologist of 15+ years retired. But I shouldn't have worried - Dr. Adkins is so gentle and sympathetic I would recommend her for the most timid of patients.

Dr. Adkins was friendly, personable, and listened very well. She offered workable solutions to gynecological issues. Additionally, Dr. Adkins was thorough about my overall health, referring other health professionals when concerns were not within her area of expertise. Appointment was on time, despite her being in surgery earlier in the day.

Dr Adkins was wonderful to me! She was very patient and listened to my needs and concerns and walked me through everything. It was my first time going for a Pap smear and check up because I just turned 21. I was worried before I got there, but the office and staff were helpful and nice which calmed my fears. I am happy to have picked her as my doctor and will stick with her for as long as I am in the Portland area!

Thorough and good "bed-side" manner. I went in for my annual exam and was totally comfortable with how she conducted the PAP smear and breast exam - two items that aren't so fun in an uncomfortable situation.

Well, no one is more uprights and freaked out by an OBGYN visit than me and I actually found myself laughing. She was very professional, non judgemental and... I actually learned a lot. I will be making her my primary OB going forward. Also, her nurse was very light hearted and easy to talk to about the horrible things we women have to disclose in the appointments! I'm not scared to go anymore!

She was very low-key but still professional and respectful. I even brought in paperwork for her to fill out (I had to get my going-to-med school physical exam done) and even though it was a bit outside her scope of practice, she was happy to do it. Very efficient and nice staff, too. No complaints!

I really love Dr Samantha Adkins. She explains to you what you need to know. She is very soft spoken and fun to talk to. It was a first meeting today and i felt so right at home.
