I had to wait for him to arrive but it was worth the wait!! He's about finding out the true problem then treating with meds or you just avoiding the allergy. I love that because he shows that he is all about treating and helping you and is not money hungry or using you as a ginea pig!! I would highly recommend him!!

I was extremely unsatisfied with this doctor and question his credentials. His contact information is not posted online anywhere correctly and he communicates with you through a personal cell phone number. He also does not identify himself as a doctor when you call him and he does not leave messages. His office locations are unclear. His office in Maryland was cold and did not present as he actually "had" an office there. His name was written on a piece of paper outside the office door and the examination room had boxes and was largely empty. I feel strangely uncomfortable in his office. During our session he wrote his notes on a sheet of printer paper. He asked me very basic screening questions (not anything I couldn't already screen on the internet) and his feedback was nothing additional I could find in my own research. The consultation felt a lot like he didn't know much about allergy and immunology at all. For the allergy consultation he completed a skin prick test. He informed me that my "non-reactions" were a result of me using birth control. What?! I've never heard of this in my life. When he sent me home with a note to visit a lab to draw blood for allergies, he wrote what was needed incorrectly. He had been looking things up in a book while I sat there waiting for him during the visit. Seriously. When I got to the lab they had no idea what tests he was requesting because he hand wrote what was needed on an RX paper incorrectly. The lab technicians stated they had never seen a doctor specify lab tests this way and that what he specified didn't even make sense. I will not be returning to this doctor ... if he even is one! Weirdest and most unprofessional experience with a medical provider I've ever had. I encourage you to look elsewhere.
Dr. Sarpong was AMAZING! I really enjoyed him. He looked out for my health and even provided advice on subjects outside of my allergies. He was extremely thorough and took his time to gather data on my personal history so that he could best diagnose the cause of my allergies. I was extremely impressed with him and I will definitely be going back. In fact, I'm going back today! I trust him whole-heartedly and appreciate the opportunity to have found such a wonderful Allergist!
My daughter and I went to him several times before I got results and that was because of the medications that were taking and the ones that I thought did not matter did. Once he said I needed to stop taking the meds and come to him, it was like christmas. He knows his job, if you follow the directions and be honest then you would get the results you need.
I went there with a clear cut case of poison ivy/oak, left with no medical aid. I instead walked out with a lecture on God and a promise that he would pray for me. What the heck kind of medical practice is this?
- When booking the appointment I included in my list of medications that I was taking oral contraceptives. After arriving at the appointment and having the scratch test performed, I was informed that the results were inconclusive due to the fact that I am taking birth control, and was instructed to return during the monthly off-week. This was extremely frustrating as I had to take time off of work, pay for transportation, and pay a co-pay (I was also informed upon leaving that they only accept cash and checks--I only had a debit card) only to be told that I would need to return to re-take the test. Had I been made aware of the possible drug interference prior to my appointment, I would not have gone. This was an extreme waste of time, money, and sick-leave and I will not be returning to this physician.
The office is in the process of transitioning to new location. When I called on the way I was informed that the location had changed. The precheck in was not accessible and I had to refill out the paperwork. The doctor was the only person in the office. He was doing the receptionist job and seeing another patient at the same time. This appointment took over two hours just to be told that my son Ezcema was too bad to tell where the test was showing. So the Doctor did the Test on me although the appt was for my child. When the appt was over, I had to run to my car and get a check because there was no system in place for credit cards, which made me late for my child's next appt in Alexandria. Dr. Sarpong appeared to be a pleasant person. However, I did not feel that the appoint or the facility was being run as a professional doctor's office should be. I would like to give him the benefit of doubt since the office was a new location and he was in the process of moving in. My suggestion to the office would be to not see patients at the new location until they have more personnel and equipment set up at the new location. I am still confused and unsure of the results.
Excellent, patient and knowledgable
Thoughtful, caring. Was a bit late to the appointment but definitely would go back.
