Dr. Samuel Ellison earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Singapore in 1975. He then trained in internal medicine at the University of the Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School. He additionally completed residency training in emergency room medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Ellison finished his dermatological residency at the University of Washington in 1986. He is a clinical instructor of dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), and is affiliated with California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Davies campus, and St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Dr Ellison was great and very knowledgeable. He tried to minimize the impact of delivering potentially bad news to me. He can take a bit to warm up to - he's very well intentioned and very caring, but also a bit "nerdy" which is great to have in a doctor! :)

The doctor was warm and candid with his communications. Notably, he advised not to spend $ on unnecessary (and potentially harmful) cosmetic treatments in response to my questions. It was nice that the doctor did not try to "sell" me more services or products. He confirmed and treated my skin areas I was concerned about (easy and not too serious).

The doctor didn’t have enough time for me. He wanted me to set up multiple appointments for different issues, which doesn’t make much sense cuz I paid for one visit, not only one problem.
