Sandy was raised in the "Lone Star State" of Texas and moved to Utah after high school graduation to attend college. She did both her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Sandy has a Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice and is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) board certified family nurse practitioner and loves all things primary care medicine! She is also an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and enjoys working with mothers and babies. Sandy has worked for Intermountain Healthcare for over 25 years, with her very first job role in Environmental Services. She worked as a surgical orderly, phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, and Advanced Practice Provider/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Sandy and her husband have four sons. As a family, they enjoy theater, camping, and hiking. Sandy loves spicy food and anything non-fiction.
