Dr. Gopal is originally from New Delhi, India. He went to All India Institute of Medical Sciences for medical school. He moved to the USA in 1993 and completed residency in Internal Medicine at State University of New York at Brooklyn. With a strong interest in Medical Oncology he decided to pursue fellowships in Medical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. He is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine.
After his training, he has been in practice since 1999. Most recently he was Director of Oncology services at 21st Century Oncology at Casa Grande, AZ. His area of special interest is Gastrointestinal malignancies. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His philosophy is that every patient is unique with different issues. Thus personalized treatment is essential for every patient. Oncology is about taking care of the patients, not just taking care of their cancer.
Dr. Gopal loves to travel and his chief hobby is photography.
