This is a very large practice with doctors of many different disciplines. Imagine my surprise when the front desk person asked me to pay for the routine dermatologic exam in full even though I had provided a current BCBS card. They young lady at the front desk explained that is was a new policy. I refused and they relented. I paid my copay and that was it. The exam was fine and Dr. Brooks was very professional. I'll think long and hard before going back.

Dr. Brooks is very knowledgeable, very professional, friendly, and really knows her stuff. She was very patient in answering questions and explaining things I needed to know, and explained things in plain English. A terrific doctor!

Dr. Sara Brooks, a Board Certified Dermatologist, is a Maryland native originally from St. Mary’s County. She attended the Honors college at University of Maryland, College Park, obtaining both a Bachelors in Cell Biology and a Masters in Management and Organization. She went on to medical school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, where she was inducted into AOA, the prestigious medical honor society. After graduation, she performed a medical internship at Thomas Jefferson University, also in Philadelphia. Her path led her back to the DC area as a resident in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center, where she served as Chief Resident of Dermatology. She also completed a Melanoma Fellowship at the Washington Cancer Institute, focusing on the expert identification and treatment of pigmented lesions and cutaneous malignancies. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. Voted "Top Dermatologist", Washingtonian Magazine for 2014 and 2015. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and generally trying to have a good time.

The wait was a bit long, but Dr. Brooks is worth the wait! She is quick and efficient. In 10 minutes, she gave me answers that both my old dermatologist and rheumatologist couldn’t give. I’ll be sticking with Dr. Brooks!

Dr. Brooks was wonderful...thorough, easy to talk to and well informed. I did not feel rushed, and I had all my questions answered. The office staff was not so great. I arrived very early since I finished another appointment upstairs. I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before they requested I fill out paperwork. Now that that's done, it should be smooth sailing going forward.

The doctor was great but the clinic seems old and run down. The front desk staff was either new or bad at their job because it was a fiasco trying to get my insurance information into their system.

Dr. Brooks is wonderful. She's patient, listens, and is very kind. The other staff are another story. First, they didn't have my appointment in the system for some reason so I waited over an hour. Then, when I was seen the nurse brought in someone she was training (of an opposite gender to myself) and then proceeded to talk only to him for the remainder of the time she was working with me. She told him, "you can take this one" (meaning me, as if I'm an object or burden, not a patient) and they spoke about feeling tired in the day and inter-office dynamics. She did not ask if it was okay for him to come, she did not explain that he was training, she did not tell me we needed to go to another room after my vitals were taken, and she asked me personal questions (which is reasonable, but that I wouldn't have wanted to answer in front of an opposite gendered professional). Lastly, when I then went to check out, Dr. Brooks had told me to book another appointment in 3-4 weeks. The receptionist told me I couldn't do that and did not offer an explanation. The other staff behind the desk also gave strange looks as if querying how on earth I could ask to be seen in such a time frame. When I explained that the doctor told me to come back at that time, there was an excuse for the delay given and the receptionist was then able to find a time that was within the needed time frame.

Today was my first visit with Dr Brooks. She was extremely friendly and professional; all the staff was as well. The office is beautiful and very clean. Dr Brooks answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. I left the appointment feeling informed and very happy with my visit!

My 11 year old daughter was seen by Dr. Brooks yesterday and I must say she was so professional and took care of her needs. She explained what needed to be done and made her feel comfortable and relaxed since she was a bit nervous for her first visit. My daughter's comment after we left,
