More about Dr. Sarah Carroll, MD

Dr. Carroll is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist who joined the practice in 2011. After growing up in San Diego, she moved to the East Coast to complete her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia. She then returned to California and received her medical degree from the University of Southern California. Her internship and residency were completed at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. During her residency, the results of her head & neck research were published in several scientific journals. While she enjoyed the Pacific Northwest immensely, she returned home to Southern California to begin practicing Otolaryngology. She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the Los Angeles Head & Neck Society. She has a particular interest in the treatment of ear and hearing disorders, and has received extensive training in the field of Otology. This includes hearing loss, recurrent or chronic ear infections and dizziness. In addition, she has state of the art training in treatment of sinus diseases and is comfortable with techniques such as balloon sinuplasty and using image guidance in the operating room to help minimize risk in complex surgeries. Her approach to the treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disorders includes minimally invasive and small incision surgery to help reduce surgery recovery times. She also manages head & neck cancers and laryngeal disorders, such as hoarseness, vocal cord nodules and other causes of weak or changing voice. In addition to surgeries done in the operating room, she performs office procedures for nasal congestion, skin lesion removal and ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsy. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, and hiking local trails.

Dr. Carroll was excellent. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back. My wait time was less than 5 minutes once I had filled out forms for new patient. Highly recommend!

Don’t like making appointment on line
The people in the office are terrible they just told me they don't accept my insurance even though my insurance informed me that I’m fully covered. I told them to call the insurance to make sure but they just said no, no we don’t accept your plan. No respect for people seeking medical care. I lost time and money to get there and my condition is getting worse.

I enjoyed seeing Dr. Carroll, she was very professional and listened and understood my problem. She asked follow up questions and made sure she had all the relevant information before beginning our appointment. Although, I hope to not have to go back to the doctor's office if I do I will definitely choose Dr. Carroll.

The wait was less than 15 minutes. Office staff, all smiles. After they learned I wore hearing aids, they spoke a little louder.. Much appreciated. Dr. Carroll always had a smile, and a chuckle when she heard my problem.. We also had a good discussion regarding hearing aids and how hindered not helped in some situations.. We also discussed how they might be improved. Although my problem was minor and the procedure only took about two minutes to solve, that included getting gloves and tools ready.. I would definitely see her for any future needs, and recommend her to others if asked.

Avarage money making office.
It was quick
First time patient. Arrived 10 mins early and had to fill out a new patient form. Front desk gave me a preliminary cost before seeing the doctor. Waited about 20 mins to see Dr. Carroll. I found her very pleasant. She listened to my problem, asked the right questions, and then examined me. She came up with a solid treatment plan (prescribed antibiotics if needed but recommended a homeopathic treatment first). I appreciate the fact she took time to listen to some other questions I had that were not necessarily ENT related. Would definitely recommend her.

I'm so glad I found out about ZocDoc. I got an appointment with Dr. Carroll next day and she was very thorough in explaining my situation. I liked how patient she was too to answer any of my questions. I would definitely come back to see her if it means driving over an hour! :)

Couldn’t be happier. I had a bad experience with a handful of ENT’s with long wait times, terrible manner, and general rushing of patients. Dr Carroll was so kind and clear, I was in and out of her office all things considered in 45 minutes. I’ll be getting my tonsils removed by her and couldn’t feel more comfortable with a surgeon!
Verified patient
Dr. Carroll was excellent. Diagnosed my ear issue and was able to fix it on the first appt. Very happy with her and the staff. Would definitely use them again.

D, Carroll is an excellent professional and the staff is quite nice. Today was a long wait, over an hour. Usually the wait is not quite that long.
Friendly professional staff and doctor, good communication, nice bedside manner. I had never been to this Glendale Adventist location before, so navigating the parking situation and finding the office was a bit of a challenge -- I would recommend leaving some extra time to get there. All in all a positive experience.
She immediately identified my hearing problem and very soon was able to move me into the treatment room. She cleared a severe wax accumulation problem. Although I wear aids, I have not heard clearly for a year or so. Love the result.

Always a life saver when I am sick! Dr. Carroll assessed my tonsils as being problematic and causing issues and helped me monitor when it was time for them to be removed. When the time came I could not have wished for a better surgeon for it! She made me feel comfortable and helped me through any issues and gave advice on what to do to prevent any severe symptoms from arising! shes great!

Super professional!
When I first walked in, the waiting room was very crowded and I expected a long wait time, however, I was pleasantly surprised and only had to wait about 20 minutes. Her nurse, Liz, was very friendly and professional. Dr. Carroll was very nice, professional and caring. I would highly recommend this office.

The wait was a little longer than I would have liked but the doctor was sup r attentive and listened to all of my questions and concerns.

I felt very lucky to choose her as my ENT. I have a lot of health issues and need the best of doctors. I'm moving to LA and I got sick while on a visit and slipped into an appointment. She had great bedside manner and what I loved most is that she listened to me. She's the first doctor to listen to my whole medical history because I know what's important for them to know and what's not. Because of that I got blood work that I should have got long ago and when I get the results may save my life. It's clear she knows her field and anyone would be lucky to have her.

It was my first visit. The office staff was helpful. I did have to wait over an hour because the Dr. was doing a procedure which happens sometimes but not the best way to start a relationship with a new patient. I thought the Dr. was nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I would go back definitely.
Very professional, clean and nice!

Dr. Carroll and staff is great. They work with your schedule they call to remind you of your appt the day before. The surgery went perfect. Everything was explained in detail and the follow ups were great.
