Dr. Satish Dasari has been with Midwest Interventional Spine Specialists for over 17 years, since 2002. He has also served as Medical Director of Pain Management at St. Margaret Mercy/Franciscan Health Center. He is board certified in Anesthesiology along with a subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He is also certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine. Dr. Dasari has been further recognized by the World Institute of Pain and was awarded “Fellow of Interventional Pain.” This is conferred only to a select group of physicians after a rigorous testing process including the actual performance of interventional spine procedures.
Dr. Dasari received his medical degree from Gunter College in 1981. In 1982, he served as a Research Scientist at MIT. He served his Internship at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts (1983) and completed his Anesthesia Residency in 1986. Dr. Dasari then completed a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiac Anesthesia followed by an additional Fellowship at Harvard Medical School from 1987-1988.
Dr. Dasari is passionate about treating his pain patients using the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs. Pain is a complex subject, and every patient is unique. Dr. Dasari believes in listening to his patients to understand how pain affects their daily lives. His goal is to improve function using multi-modal techniques. This may include physical therapy and minimally invasive interventional pain procedures on the spine along with medications.
Neuromodulation is an exciting technology that has advanced tremendously over the last decade. Dr. Dasari has been at the forefront of utilizing this minimally-invasive implant to reduce pain, since 1990. He implanted the first high-frequency spinal cord stimulator system in Northern Indiana. This leading-edge technology is meant to treat chronic pain, in the back and legs, that has failed conventional treatment, including surgery.
