Dr Tata has been my psychiatrist for two years and she is lovely. She always listens and seems to genuinely care. She will try multiple methods of treatment depending on your needs. She is easy to get in with, quickly and has always been there for me in crisis. Office staff is excellent, as well!

I brought my 6 year old son in due to problems in school related to his ADHD. The Dr was very thorough in gathering history of symptoms. I really appreciate her approach to medication, and how she went over what we need to watch for and the next steps for plan of care.

If you do fill out your insurance info. your appointment may be cancelled without reason. Also you will need to come in about 15-20 minutes early for your appointment to fill out the new patient paperwork as there are about 15-20 pages to complete.
Dr. Satya Tata has extensive experience in child psychiatry and has been practicing in San Diego for eight years. Dr. Satya Tata completed her residency in adult psychiatry and fellowship in child psychiatry at Kansas University Medical Center. She was chief resident and has experience teaching both medical students and residents. She received top resident award for excellent patient care.
In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Satya Tata is the Director of Inpatient Services and Partial Hospital Program for Children at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare. She is a consulting psychiatrist at San Diego Center for Children and treats children in level 12 and 14 residential setting. She also has extensive experience in treating developmentally disabled children through telepsychiatry as a consultant and a treating psychiatrist.
Dr. Tata has experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of childhood and adolescent mental health disorders which includes ADHD, depression, and bipolar mood disorders, variety of anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and substance abuse issues.

The front desk staff is absolutely wonderful. I've been having trouble with my new insurance and she took the time to call and figure out exactly what was wrong. Dr. Tata was fast in taking me back, so fast that I didn't get through all my new client paperwork. She took the time to get to know me as a person, as well as all my past history. This wasn't a typical 10 minute psychiatry appointment where you feel like you weren't heard, but very personable.

Doctor Tata truly cares about how you’re doing and does try to get you feeling better. She tries treatments outside the box when regular meds don’t work. For me, she recommended TMS and it’s saving my life! Give her a try, she is great!

She was very rude from the start. Insulted my career choice. Told me that if she had known about my "situation" (a touring performer with the largest stunt show in the world) before my appointment that she wouldn't have taken me as a patient. Told me to find another doctor. But since I was in her office she'd give me enough medication to get me from point A to point B. Her bedside manor was rude from the get go. The most uncomforting psyciatrist I've ever seen.

Dr. Tata was very warm and welcoming to me as a new patient. She was calm and dutiful in her questions. I appreciated her attention to detail and constant reassurance that together, we could arrive at a solution (albeit in due time).

Staff was not helpful or accommodating. I visited the office twice to get NO resolution and only bad looks from receptionist every time. This doctor clearly does not care at all about the well being of the patients. Never again. Happy I found a different doctor.
