Dr. Rubino earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire and completed his neurosurgery residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, New York. He further completed fellowship subspecialty training in spine surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital and in neurosurgical oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
As an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Dr. Rubino is dedicated to mentoring future neurosurgeons and is the medical student neurosurgery clerkship director at SIUH. As a member of the Northwell Cancer Institute, Dr. Rubino is committed to providing the highest level of collaborative, technologically advanced neurosurgical care to improve outcomes for cancer patients. His research includes a study where he served as the lead author, entitled Improving outcomes for brain metastases patients through the synergy of stereotactic radiosurgery and targeted cancer therapies.
Dr. Rubino combines advanced surgical techniques with compassionate care to provide his patients with the best possible outcomes. His dedication to excellence and patient advocacy leads him to never accept the status quo, to lead by example and to continually to fight for his patients on a daily basis.
