I had a terrible experience overall though a lot of it was out of their hands. I booked an appointment through zocdoc for a dermatologist. This was the top rated person on the list. However, she is not a dermatologist. Despite me giving direct information through zocdoc for the reason for my visit, this was not caught ahead of time. To make things worse, I sat in the waiting room for over 90 minutes and was told that this wait is very typical. Once I was finally taken in, the woman was nice, but there was still a major disconnect as I was expecting a dermatologist check up and they were expecting to give me an annual? I have no idea. Once the doctor arrived, the confusion continued as she thought she knew me so kind of barged in, didn’t introduce herself and went right into staring at the computer screen asking questions about my labs. I was never asked what brought me in for the visit. That would have fixed the mixup sooner. Once we finally got to it, she notified me that she isn’t a dermatologist and that zocdoc has done this before. After nearly three hours in the office, I left. They were insistent on having me pay a copay before leaving but finally relented since I did not actually have a check up of any kind at all.

This was a telephone appointment and I would recommend that Zocdoc or Victory make the instructions clear for what to do to "see" your clinician. I had NO idea that I was supposed to sign in to the patient portal and "wait" there for Sharon. I thought I was waiting for a phone call from her. I called the Victory office after waiting for 15 minutes and then received instructions. Sharon was involved with an emergency procedure and I appreciated that after about 35 minutes, I received a call letting me know that Sharon would be with me in about 10 minutes. Sharon became available at 1:28, my appointment was scheduled for 12:30. I had a Zoom meeting for my job at 1:30 so I asked to reschedule. Sharon was great and put me on the calendar, same day, at 3:15 p.m. Once we finally connected, I had a terrific appointment. Sharon is extremely thorough and explains things in a way that I can understand. She takes her time and I felt like I understood the plan moving forward. I highly recommend Sharon! She is a top practitioner!!

Time time was too long. The front desk staff nor Mrs. Shepherd showed any apathy when I talked to them about the long wait time. The has happened again and again. Mrs. Shepherd is a great NP and takes her time with me, she cares and wants to resolve many issues. I would just want the office to work on her scheduling maybe allowing her more time and letting people be aware of the possible wait time. This clinic is close to my house and love going there.

Sharon Shephard has been my NP since 2007 & she/Dr. Franklin were chosen off my Blue Cross/Blue Shield provider list. She is extremely knowledable and thourough. She diagnosed a thyroid condition I had suffered from through lab work. No other doctor I saw previously ordered labs to be done. Very understanding about my current condition. Does not say " It's in my head".
