She earned her BSN from California State University San Bernardino and went on to complete her MSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice at Frontier Nursing University. Her career has taken her across the country in diverse practice settings, from community clinics and private practices to hospital-based obstetrics and women’s health. Shawn has provided care as a hospitalist at Ascension Sacred Heart OB ED in Pensacola, at Emerald Coast OBGYN in Panama City, and at Coastal OBGYN, where she delivered at Bay Medical Hospital. She has also served women and families at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, at Trinity Health in Minot, and in San Diego at Palomar Medical Center, Neighborhood Healthcare, and Escondido OBGYN. Earlier in her career, she served in the U.S. Navy as a labor and delivery nurse at Camp Pendleton, CA. Across all of these roles, Shawn has cared for women through all stages of life—from contraception and fertility management to pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care. She is especially passionate about high-risk pregnancy, contraception management, and supporting military families. Having spent much of her career in or around military communities, she understands the unique stressors active duty members and their families face during pregnancy and beyond. What drives Shawn is a commitment to patient-centered care: ensuring women not only receive the highest quality of medical care but also the education and time they deserve. She is passionate about empowering women with accurate, evidence-based knowledge in an age where misinformation often causes unnecessary fear. Outside of work, Shawn and her family call Panama City home. She and her husband enjoy beach life, boating, and cheering on Michigan football.
