After practicing in larger medical groups for years, Dr. Mitchell decided to create an environment where patients can participate in the healing process on all levels, including mind, body and spirit. This inclusive aspect of health care is particularly important for Dr. Mitchell, who travels frequently to South America to explore traditional, indigenous methods of healing.
Dr. Mitchell cares for the entire family, from providing wellness exams to attending to complex medical problems and acute medical conditions, such as repiratory problems, sprains or lacerations. She prefers taking a holistic approach to health and collaborating with alternative providers for your health care. To that end, Spirit of Health offers a variety of other modalities, including massage therapy, physical therapy and Naturopathic care.

She takes the time to listen and is willing to find a specialist if she is not able to help.
She is open to integrative medicine which I believe is very helpful.
She has an acupuncturist and massage therapist on site.

Dr. Mitchell is one of those rare breeds of physicians that you don't find anymore. She takes time to hear your questions & concerns and answers them without rushing you. I would highly recommend her and will continue to be a patient of hers until she is no longer practicing. It is very unusual for me to wait at all to see the Doc ... today, I understand that there were some unusual phone calls and situations she had to contend with, so my wait was longer than normal.

We've been seeing Dr. Mitchell for the last 30 years. For the last 25 she has been helping my wife through a series of health crisis. We've gone from the folks that only see her once a year or so to the folks that have to make a follow up appointment for next week as we leave. She and her staff are ever cheerful, resourceful and just the folks you want when you have a medical problem.

The staff was friendly and professional and availability was great. However, when I made my appointment online through ZocDoc, the office never received notification and therefore I was not on the schedule at all. I was also told this service can be unreliable. If that is the case, don't use it so folks don't book appointments, take time off work, and drive out of their way to have to wait for the next available appointment. Aside from that, the visit was pleasant.

Dr Mitchell listens. She asks questions. She seems to familiarize herself with a patient's chart as she is able to turn to dates and inforamtion and inform us if our answers to her questions aren't, what she would think, accurate.
Dr Mitchell cares, she doesn't hesitate to contact a specialist if she has a question why you were prescribed a certain medication, test, etc.
Dr, Mitchell has our interest and health at heart.
Dr, Mitchell tells you like it is. And,so you understand.

Doc Mitchell and her practice have been my family Doc since 1999. I was about 31 years old when I found her. From day one she wanted to know my family history of of illness and designed my care around it. When my cholesterol couldn't be controlled any longer with diet and exercise, she started me on low dose Crestor keeping my numbers in the green to present day. Same with blood pressure. If it wasn't for Doc and her proactive approach to long term health care and preventative medicine, I would not be a 46 year old man with no sign of heart disease yet. Unlike my father who had his first bypass at age 50.
She's a doctor that thinks outside the box. Open to all forms of medicine to include herbal and holistic. She is a doctor that gets to know her patients, their health risks, history and needs. I would recommend her to any of my loved ones, i.e. family and friends.
Even after moving 2 hours away, I've found it impossible to not continue having her as my Doc. She is the best of the best!

Very empathetic and caring. I appreciate her overview of my chart from a previous clinic and could tell it was thoroughly analyzed. I also appreciated suggestions for future wellness tests without feeling any pressure. Dr. Mitchell appears to be an advocate for alternative methods of healing, which is appreciated. (I also like her sense of humor!) It is greatly appreciated and helps with the anxiety of a medical visit.

For my first visit, I was very pleased with both professionalism and caring nature of Dr. Mitchell and her staff. They did their best to calm my apprehension, and addressed my needs thoroughly. I was also impressed with her taking the time to look up a medication that I had been taking that was unusual, and suggest an alternative that might work as well.

The visit with Dr. Sheila Mitchell was a most pleasant experience, she was very personable. I was not pleased with the LAB tech who was just the opposite, unpleasant and bothered.
What I am also not pleased with is that there is no email service for client/patient to receive professional copies of charts and readings of all blood work. I need some type of record sent with all the findings and scales not just a written purple paper with very little information included. Prefer Kaiser Permanantes or Vancouver Clinics email method of relaying information from medical clinic to client.Is this a possibilty?

I have been seeing Dr. Mitchell for a few years now and I am always 100% happy and content with my experience. She is extremely thorough with all of my concerns and questions, and I never feel like I am being rushed through the process. Even though I don't spend a lot of time in Vancouver I make sure to always do my annual physical's with her. She has a very warm and caring bedside manner as well. Her nurse Tony is wonderful as well!
