Dr. Sheldon Klausner is a warm, compassionate ear, nose, and throat doctor treating patients in Santa Monica, California, and the surrounding communities. His primary goal as a practitioner is to see each patient as a human being, applying holistic approaches to solve illnesses and reduce the need for surgery and prescription medication. He holds certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Originally from New York, Dr. Klausner attended the University of California, Los Angeles for his undergraduate degree, receiving membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He pursued his medical degree at the University of Southern California and completed an internship at the Los Angeles County General Hospital. Dr. Klausner continued his medical education at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he received residency training in general surgery and otolaryngology–head and neck surgery. He then performed military service as an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for the U.S. Air Force, serving one year at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base in Vietnam, and nearly two years at Bitburg Air Base in Germany.
Patients visiting Dr. Klausner can receive a full range of ear, nose, and throat care for all age groups. Hearing tests and VNG/balance testing is also available, in addition to hearing aid consultation, sales, and repair.
His areas of professional interest include nasal and sinus disease, hearing, vertigo, and balance disorders, snoring and sleep apnea treatment, and issues with the throat, voice, and allergies.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Klausner enjoys cooking, yoga, tai chi, and spending time with his wife and daughters.

Dr. Klausner is the first Ear, Nose, Throat specialist I've seen, and I've only met him once. There was a same day appointment available here on ZocDoc, I checked that he was in network with my insurance, and was there an hour later.
In the past 2 years I've seen at least 20 various specialists, head to toe and back again. Dr. Klausner is EASILY the 2nd best doctor I've ever met. The 1st one, while amazing, I can no longer see since he doesn't take insurance and neither do the independent labs he uses for tests. He was the first doctor to ever spend more than 10-20 minutes with me, ask me questions, listen to them, and try and resolve/remedy the issues I explained to him, not what he decided he wanted to treat, which would result in needlessly repeated tests and wasted time.
Dr. Klausner had that same great bedside manner, was in no rush to get me out of his chair so the next payer could be seen. He answered all of my questions, and taught me how best to treat my sinuses and other information I wasn't aware of.
I go back in a couple days and look forward to it. His office helper (didn't catch her name) was also as sweet as possible. When I called to say I'd be 8-9 minutes late, she encouraged me to take my time, it was fine, unlike the typical annoyance stern warning that I'd forfeit my appointment if I was a minute later that I'd get from other doctors.

Dr. Klausner spent almost two hours with me. I don't know how he can stay in business devoting so much time to his patients -- but it was certainly appreciated. He has a very holistic approach, which may or may not be your thing; I certainly have complete confidence in his medical expertise.

While a seemingly nice guy, Dr Klausner is also a little on the creepy new age side of medicine. He told me I could cure grinding my teeth at night through meditation and promising my jaws that I wouldn't hurt them any more. Maybe it works for some folks, not a believer, myself.
Parking is atrocious if you don't want to spring for valet.
